As far as depth, the octagonal VS the super 6 or 8" round. I just can't get use to the octagonal just seems weird to me to use.

Yup, JCR's right. It's all about where you're detecting, and what you're looking for. I detect where there's little trash, so go with the 12" on my Warrior, and plan on using the the 13" on the Vista X next spring. But occasionally we find a habitation area out in the boonies, and the smaller coils come into play.

I Have found 8Inch Cont Coil great in Trash Iron Linden
