So I bought a Vortex from a retailer, tried charging it multiple times but it wouldnt take a charge. Called Garrett and was informed there is a fix. I was instructed to plug in the charging cable they provided, with the detector off. Next turn on and then turn off the detector. Charge until you get at least two bars showing(10-12) hrs. Took me about 3.5 hrs. Then follow instructions on the Garret site including registering. Downloaded the 9.09 version with no problem. I made sure to register the detector for warranty purposes including headphones. Was able to pair the phones to the detector with no problem. I like the telescoping rods. Hope to try out tomorrow. I hope this helps with anyone buying a 2.04 version.
