Walked away

Hit two strange targets the weekend before last that I walked away from after a unsuccessful stab...one was a tight 81 silver target, depth said 4" but I could not hit that signal for nothing! Made a mental note of the spot and walked away...other target was a solid 49 (beaver tail tab) but loud and clear and not deep...couldnt stab it for nothing and walked away....
So I go back to both spots after thinking about it for a week, the tones and locations etc......Those 81's are usually a silver ring, or maybe even a silver dime, but this one was a clad Q on edge...the 49 turned out to be another coin, a mexican 500 peso 1988 vintage on edge too...and here I was thinking it was one of REVIERs big gold rings or maybe a chain!...Usually a guy can stab a coin pretty quick, sometimes a fellow just needs to slow down and hit the signal from an angle. A guy dont want to miss a big ring or a chain!.

The Subaru was sounding like a bag of marbles under the hood...passenger side front drive shaft was going out...got a new part Sunday and had to grind off a Tee handle allen wrench to make a long punch to pound out a roll pin up underneath...got it done and it runs like a champ. Got some clad and these two signals that were bothering me all week..I hate to walk away, but I hate it more wondering about a signal . so I usually go back and get them some other day. Really great hunting weather!

Well, that was fine work Mud. You made a mental note of the spot. Gad I should detect with you. I have to make a mental note to find planet earth. Some of those targets just don't want to be found. You keep that car going. Do you use that car for work too?? Good detecting .......Z

Thanks guys..Elton, thats one great thing about the internet...a guy can go to youtube and watch somebody else do a repair so it makes what could be a challenge pretty easy.
