Had a couple hours and thought I would go tho the home I have been hitting pretty hard recently (see previous posts this year). I decided I would grid the area since previous hunts been going around finding hot spots.

As I was expecting good finds were not coming out right away. Was finding junk and a wheat penny when got a nice twang and the cross hair pegged upper right and top. Thought was just another piece of metal as was showing only a few inches. But I wanted to dig all good signals since this yard has produced some old coins. Dug my plug and probe signaled still in hole. Made another plug and signal was in the plug. I then saw a large silver rim and cleaned off and it was a Walker Half :surprised:

I kept moving and got a few more of those twangs and got the 2 Mercs nearby. Found a few Wheats then the Roosie came out. Got a nice twang and out came the silver Washington quarter. Got a signal and was near the nickel range. Once I dug it up it looks like a silver money clip I believe.

Had a signal that was bouncing around the nickel/pull tab area and a little iffy. Again decided I would dig up and when probing the dirt the signal was there. Had a hard time finding then I see a little coin disc. Cleaned a little and saw 1 Ore 1882. On the front was the words "Brodrafolkens Val" and a shield like emblem. Found out it was a Swedish coin. The picture of the side saying 1 Ore did not come out well so I just posted the other side. It is smaller than a dime.

As I was leaving I went toward the vehicle digging signal as I went and got a nickel again and dug up a 1942P War Nickel; right beside it was a 1942 regular nickel.

Finished the day with:
1945 Walker half
1942 Washington Quarter
1916 1939d Mercury Dimes...wish I could transfer the mint mark...LOL
1956 Roosie
2 clad Dimes
1942P War Nickel
1942 Nickel
Wheats 1927 1934 1940(2) 1944 1945 1948 1951d 1957d

Swedish 1882 1 Ore coin
Silver money clip button

I am using the SE Pro and I just upgraded to in January. I was using an Explorer II for the last several years. Bought the II in 2007 but did not use all the time as the learning curve was difficult. I was using a Garrett GTA 2500. I also sold this unit to purchase the SE Pro.

I am VERY satisfied with the Minelab detectors.
 
Ahh, so you have some detecting time under your belt.

Difficult is an understatement. I was ready to toss mine out on the highway yesterday. But I have too much invested to do something irrational like that. Last year I was running an Ace 250, so it's basically like night and day as far as understanding what it is saying. I decided that after work today I am going over to a small park close to my house that has many years worth of clad coins. I could spend a whole summer digging coins a half-block from home. I need a change of scenery.
