Want To Buy Teknetics For Gift NEED ADVICE :teknetics:

Well I've been researching a lot the last few days to buy a metal detector for my retired father to give him a new hobby. I've settled on teknetics but am in a bind between two choices. I can get a like new demo Omega 8000 from a dealer with warranty for $300 shipped or I can get a brand new delta with a Nel hunter dd coil and factory coil for the same money. I would sincerely appreciate suggestions, Thanks

The better overall package would be the Omega 8000 with just the basic coil,my way of thinking is the other option does sound appealing but the detector is a lesser spec package and also the NEL Hunter coil are reasonably heavy especially if the person who its for is of not good health.If your father really takes to it then over time you may want to get a Hunter coil but that is after he has learnt the detector 1st,also if its not for him detecting then the 8000 would be slightly easier to sell 2nd hand without a massive loss.

Of course the final decision is upto you but looking at it from a few different angles then my vote would go for the higher spec Omega 8000.
