Wanted: 4" coil for a Tesoro Scout

Th

The DD version works better in mineralized ground.
Wondering if it would work better on the iron.
That I really don't know.
Though I have DD's I haven't used them much.
I like the lighter concentrics.
They do find mineralization better when scanning rocks for gold.
Though I'm running the machine wide open doing that.
We're lucky the soil in the UK has no mineralisation. The only iron is generally man made pollution (especially in the Thames with a couple of thousand years of industry along the foreshore) with the very occasional hot rock. I might try the standard 8" coil to see how it handles the Thames trash.

The stock coils work very well.
The machines were tuned at the factory precisely to the coil they came with.

Though the Mojave seems to work very well with Anything I throw on it.
Even the 3-18".

The little 5" is Hot on the Mojave.

Large iron will fool most any machine.

I'd be happy with a 5" if one is up for sale!

Hi all from across the pond! I've recently acquired a Tesoro Scout (renamed 'Laser' Scout in the UK) and I'm looking to convert it to the 'Thames' version. This was a conversion available for seaching high trash areas particularly the river Thames in the UK. It involved a slight modification of the circuitry and utilising the 4" coil with the 5 pin connector.
Does anyone have one or know of someone who has one of these gathering dust & who would be willing to sell it? I'm exploring all avenues in the UK but they are very limited especially as the company no longer exists. Thanks for reading guys & do contact me if you can help. Regards Mark.
I have one but as I recall, last time I tried to use it a few years ago it seemed to have a problem. I will have to put it on a machine and see if it works.

Hi Wheaty Mike,
Thanks for your reply! If it does work would you sell? Regards Mark.
Lemme think on it. I actually took it out today and it does work! I had to clean the pins on the connector.
I’m surprised how well it actually works!
I dug some targets and it seems to hit coin size targets at 3” or more!
I could see where it would drive you mad if you tried to cover a lot of ground with it! 😂

Ok no worries, glad for you its working anyway! Yes, It's slow & low with that one! Give me a shout if you decide to sell!

Ok, will do. I’m looking for a Tejon if you know of any.
Oh and the machine I was running the 4” coil on was my Golden Saber Plus.
Ok I'll keep a look out. Golden Sabre, nice machine! I'm looking for the 4" for my Scout. The River Thames in London where I search is full of ferrous so the smaller the coil, the better it is getting the decent finds amongst the trash.
