WANTED TO BUY>>>>Would like to buy a garrett AT4 or AT3 detector............... kephartjim@yahoo.com

Jim, I had a nice AT3 and it worked fine down here on the salt water beaches around Corpus Christi Texas.
I later bought an AT4 and sold the AT3.
Sent the AT4 in to Garretts for tuning and check out ... but they could not fix it ... no parts available.

However ... they offered me more on trade in toward a new water detector than I paid for it.
How is that for fantastic customer service ?
(I traded it toward a new SeaHunter Mark II)

Soo .. if you find one ... even if it is broken and can not be repaired ... it is still worth a LOT!
Wish I could find another broken one as I would love to get a new Garret Infinium.

I have a working AT4. It has been modified somewhat (Mounted the control head on the shaft- can be easily undone) At this age, I wouldn't guarantee that it's still waterproof. New circuit board in '95.

What is your range, and would you like some pictures.

I have 2 of the AT4's (take your pick) Both will need headphones.....but I have the Ikelite connectors for them (cost about $25 each). *Can use cheaper landphones..... I can send pictures later (I am moving so will take awhile) One for $275 and other for $325 plus shipping. IF you know about these machines....they are very sensitive (click and pops) LIKE the fisher 1265-X and 1266-X and target separation is very "quick". One has had the coil wire to housing permanently hard wired (looks to be manufacturer applied) so it might be a later model. The other one (more expensive) has a NEW (old stock) coil and original Ikelite coil mount to housing (removable). The cheaper one has had the TABS on the coil epoxy (waterproof) repaired. No Joke.....the original tabs on these coils are only about as thick as the Box on a package of cigarettes!! So I would suggest that the new coil have those tabs BEEFED up right away. They both work as new....the knobs are "tight" as haven't been used much (either these were worked like a dog....or became closet trophies) LOL **The AT4 is a HIP MOUNT only......I have an AT3 that works fine, but the case is wasted (would not be waterproof) I do have a set of waterproof headphones for the AT3 (not interchangeable with AT4----volume becomes almost null when used with AT4's). I have used both AT4's with regular land headphones, and all is fine. The audio circuit on the AT3 must be quite different. Both the housings on the AT4's are BRIGHT and NEW looking. The more expensive AT4 has a new complete stem mount for the coil too. I paid $160 on eBay just for the housing with electronics (unknown as to working or not) about 8 years ago, then researched online to find the new coil-stem (I have the charger and original rechargeable 9V's somewhere). The one with New Coil. New Rods, Charger and 9V's was built back to specs with New parts.....tested and then put up. Let me know if interested. Jim H *The other one was purchased from a guy that was the writer for the underwater detector forum somewhere.....I will have to look that up again. I think his name was Steve but not sure.
