Sorry to hear about your Robbery. I know it must be hard to even get out and enjoy yourself anymore since you lost everything to a bunch of greedy crooks. I wish you the best NH Bob and hope the Crooks slip up and you get some of your stuff back. If not, luckily they will cross paths with someone who will put a little Lead in their diet. I HATE CROOKS! Good Luck with your Property Search and HH if you get out.

but nah, at 73 I'm not serious. Mostly just watchin and cheering from the fence. The big boys say my XL-Pro, MXT or CZ 3D should be pretty close IF you have the right coil, the right skills, and a good ear - but they also say that's the natural habitat of the Explorer. I'm inclined to think there is a lot of virgin territory left in that 8 inches plus zone, but it has to be somewhere that wasn't cleared out thirty years ago when the stuff was at 2-6 inches. Congratulations on a nice find and thanks for the particulars.:drinking:

1833 church, 1900 church, multiple 1800's parks, any place I can find on the sanborn fire maps that are public, a couple private properties. I know what I am doing, but it is a little late in the game for this hobby in my area. Does that mean there are no longer any keepers out there...No! It means that the day of bringing home that many silver coins and older keepers for this area are way over from public property.

Yes, I know...Door knock and ask to detect private property. I do that also...but right now it is just too dry to dig in peoples yards here. All the suggestions about researching old places like picnic grounds, torn down old schools, etc is great, but it has already been done here!!!

My best day in the last year of detecting was 2 IH's and 2 silver Rosie's in one day. I swing about 25 hours a week, so I am putting in lots of time.

Do a little traveling along with some info about some other Towns and you will have something to hunt that is much better than what has been hunted the last 30 years in your area. Time to Research + Travel to different Towns = New Territory with possibilities of Never Searched or Forgotten Areas that have Treasure's waiting to be found by the lucky detectorist who finds them will increase your success rate in older finds. Thanks for the input and Good Luck and HH to you.

their Detectors to this day in hopes of finding a few Ellusive Old Coins and such that others have missed. You are right about finding Coins in the 8" mark. It just takes smaller Coils, especially around Trashy Sites where there is always a few hidden Coins waiting to be found. Continued Good Health and keeping interested in this great hobby we share and Good Luck and HH when you are out swinging for those lost Coins.
