went in yesterday about 9ish-next thing i knew,i was wakin up.the good dr.told me afterwards my l-shoulder couldnt have been worse-3 outta 4 were completely torn away, the 4th was about 1/3rd gone.they gave me a nerve blocker to deaden my whole arm/shoulder before surgery,it wore off about 3 this morning.... pain???lets just say im glad they gave me vicodin and oxycontin to take for a week or so;the dr. told me he basically had to rebuild my shoulder;and if i didnt have them pain drugs in me when the nerve blocker wore off,id be on my way to the er for a pain shot.as it is,the meds im on keeps it down to a dull throb:cheers:...On a lighter note;I cant say enough good about my dr.and his staff-treated me-and my wife- with courtesy and professionalism...I got to go back to him tomorrow for a dressing change, and check-up....speaking of my wife, she has taken care of me so well,im glad the LORD sent her my way to marry;THANK YOU;AND AMEN...Dr said also being there was so much damage to repair;it will be'months and months'for the healing process, before therapy can begin....steve.

glad to hear the good news and you will be on the mend. Will be praying for you Brother and for the wife and Boomer too.

I injured my arm at work. Upper forearm still hurts and also the rotator cup was damaged but nothing near what you did. Have some pain meds, am off work until I am back to 100% and sometime or other they will be doing physical therapy. Was just starting to get some good hours in and good checks now nothing and no work. though in my case work will be there when I heal.

Like I say Steve, keeping you in my prayers.

Steve,

I'm really glad that things went well with your surgery. Take care of yourself and don't do anything to cause the pain to become worse! Don't allow the pain medicine to wear off before taking another one. Pain is much harder to stop and/or control if we let the pain get really cranked up before taking something for it. I'm not saying to OD, of course! I'm just saying to take your meds whenever you are able to and not give the pain a chance to get too bad. If you do, then it will be harder to stop!

Glad the surgery is over and healing has begun! I pray you heal faster than what the dr says, for Jesus is Greater than your dr, although a good physician! Pay attention to him and to your wife and don't try to do anything that would cause more harm and pain to your shoulder. Also, prayer for you that the powerful drugs you are taking will not become addictive for you through the loving care of our blessed Lord and Savior! Amen! God Bless! Betty

Praying for a quick and pain free as possible recovery!!

Glad to hear things went well. Will keep you in prayer.
