When I attended the Promise Keepers in '98;they STRESSED self-accountability.That means bring responsible for your conduct in all things...I have a question for all-Is lack of self-accountability part of the reason the economy is so bad??A FEW EXAMPLES:When the American Axle strike started;there was a article on 7 news about a husband/wife that both worked there;and they were just HEARTBROKEN they had to sell their nice Corvette;'cause they couldnt afford the payments on strike pay...I read in the paper last night that some professional couple were lamenting the fact that they had to sell "one or two of their THREE homes here in Michigan because of the economy(EACH in the $175,000 range)-the husband was quoted as saying"Im paying $700 a month just on TAXES;and its getting old"...How about those lenders that put people in homes with adjustable motrgages;knowing all the while that when the payment re-adjusts;a lot of them will be in WAY OVER THEIR HEADS???NOW,dont get me wrong-I like having money just as much as much as the next guy,but the extent some people pursue it is just outta sight. If more of all of us practiced self-accountability;we would be MUCH better off...how much good could I do for the church if I could afford 3 homes; to give some of that to the LORD instead??When my wife and I got pre-approved for a mortgage; we were cleared for
$150,000-I told my wife that amount is WAY NORTH of my comfort zone-we got one for WAY LESS THAN HALF THAT-FIXED RATE INTEREST;THANK YOU...when I got my bike,I was approved for 12 grand;the bike I got was less than HALF than I was approved for;again...THE POINT OF MY RAVINGS???Just because we are given a set amount for whatever reason,do we HAVE to go to the limit on it??WHY not use just a little-Ya never know what the future holds...We all should examine ourselves;and apply personal accountability in all we do-It might make it easier for us all in the long run....
