Was a gorgeous day so hit it for a spell. Another disgusting hunt...

Went to this high school I haven't been to in some time and the wind was blowing about 30 MPH with gusts that nearly blew me away and I hate wind with a passion. Hunted my skinny butt off and scrounged up a lousy $1.18, worse than yesterday. Place was full of people so couldn't hunt everywhere. When the sun comes out here the people hit the parks, schools, playgrounds, etc., like a swarm of maggots Got to find a spot with some coins. This is getting discouraging. I may have to take up needle point as a hobby. At least one realizes sometrhing from that.

From the land of the Bluenose.....well me bouy keep the faith and the coins will come..........or move to Nova Scotia! At least sir you are getting out!

I'm hearing you Bill. I've pulled up 5 coins total from my last 3 hunts ($1.80) It's downright discouraging. I was out today over 2 hours. Got rained on 3 times and only found 2 coins.

Awwh man, sorry to see about your last couple hunts Uncle Willy.:( Better luck next time. I've had alot of worse hunts, though.:wiggle:I've been out a bunch of times and didn't find nothin' but junk. It's still fun. I look at it kinda like the lottery. You never know, that next signal could be a nice gold ring.:biggrin:Happy Hunting!:)

I've been out hitting a toboggan hill a few times (it's finnaly melting now WOO HOO!). I picked up a few nickels, dollar coins etc. Not all that much. I got tired of it though as most signals were frozen into the ground, under the snow. Sometimes I don't want to and don't post up my lesser days, but they do happen. I figure that the fresh air, sunshine and excercise are reward enough on my off days.

I went out yesterday and found 3 cents.... see my post
Confused

But at least i was out ,, ihtink ill bite the
bullet and get the GTI dirty tommorrow
Ill put plastic bags around the battery cmpt
and use the cover on the hsng

Its so nice and SHINY now tho ...............:heh:

But i guess ill survive the gunk just ot get out :detecting:

THINK SPRING ( 13 days)

Hiya Bill. I've been absent for awhile again. I got out early this afternoon. I needed to sweep the cobwebs out of my head. Not much for me either. I did a bit better than you 45 coins just over $4.00. Nice to get out. I hope when I start hunting in earnest in a few weeks my attitude changes. The goals I set for 2010 look like more than I can handle right now.

Chris

No photo for me either. I didn't feel like taking one.

I can relate with the disgust. If Budweiser twist caps were gold, I'd be rich today. That was almost it today.

Yeah what's going on. Have people stopped using money? :) Even the tot lots here are bare. Guess I got spoiled years ago when I could hit any number of playgrounds and pick up five to seven bucks. Just in front of an auditorium at a high school years back I picked up over $13.00, a gold bracelet watch, a solid silver bracelet, three 14 KT.gold rings, and some trinkets. Now I can hit that same spot and I'm lucky if I find fifty cents. It's sad plus silver is practically an impossibity anymore.

Bill

OK bill, it sounds like you need to go outside the box. Like john said, new places. Thats what you would tell us to do!:detecting:

I've said for a long time that all these low-cost, quality detectors and detecting TV commercials would eventually come back to haunt us.
Start a newbie in the hobby? Not on your life. Let them take up needle point! :bouncy:

But it is discouragin' Bill, when you get so few good weather days... only to be skunked. I'm over here wishing you well, anyway, bud.

Don't feel to bad. I have never found $1.00 in change yet on a single day. Of course I have only been hunting for 2 1/2 months so far. Things are looking up here though. Spring break just started here today and I couldn't believe how many people were on the beach. Got out early for 2 hours and found nothing but went again this evening and found 38 cents. Only took me an hour. Usually takes 4 hours to find that much as no one has been on the beach lately. I have to be up and out of the house everyday this month in time to be on the beach at the far end of town at least half an hour before the sun comes up. We have a bar ON the beach here where all the spring breakers are going to be getting drunk and probably loosing alot of stuff each and every night for the entire month. I'm hoping its gonna be a good month for me. Can't wait to find my first gold anything. Found a silver ring, my first, about 2 weeks ago. Was a great feeling. I hope everything gets better for you folks up North.

Keep an eye out for beach volleyball set ups near the bars. Those are always hot spots.

Yeah I know but going outside the box here equates to many, many, miles. You can drive 25 miles here and still be in town.
