Was a LONG day...and rainy weather...

Pete in MI

New member
the rain sure kept the animals from moving about but still people drive too fast for conditions - especially in construction zones.

The VA did get me some eye drops - YEAH!!!! Had to see the head eyeball (get it head - eye ball - oh never mind hahaha) which he usually doesn't get too involved in most cases. Have to go back to see him in 30 days to see if things are better. They didn't waste time getting new glasses made up for me. Think he needs to solve the bigger problem first. They have some cool (new to me) technology to scan the eyeball and turn it into something like a strip with color ??? - looks kinda like an audio sound strip with the up and downs and patches of color. Meant something to them - just pretty to me. I was even more amazed to see the staff all seemed to be Americans - not the turban wearing people or the South East Asian people that I had known in previous trips to the VA.

Didn't have to pay for the medication and since we had short notice about the appointment we had to scramble to get the money to get down there for gas in the van. God came through with a check from the VA yesterday for $26 from a previous trip to Clare that they compensated us for....God's timing is always on time. Then once down there they gave me the travel allowance in cash for this trip..so with it and the other check had over $100. God blessed us again. Sherry needed some more meds, filled the gas tank before leaving Saginaw, stopped at a Goodwill store and found a coffee cup for 31 cents with PETE already printed on the cup. Some would call that a coincidence. We know better :)

The money we 'borrowed' from Sherry's Mom was never touched and went back to her. Sherry got her meds, the dogs got more dog food, I had lunch in Saginaw and had a safe but long trip back home. God is amazing! Why would anyone not want to know Him?

I still have a major concern - seems no matter where I go on the way home I get drowsy and almost fall asleep at the wheel. Most of the other times I can let Sherry take over the driving. Since she never has that problem I ruled out a leaking exhaust on the van. So maybe yet another medical problem...or a spiritual one.

Anyway, exhausted and home safely with my wonderful wife.

Prayers needed for Leelan and Casey - and Sherry - and whoever else....as they seem to have gotten Pink Eye and Casey is dragging Leelan with her to spread it ever more...and still working too to help spread it further...some people have no sense.

Thanks for the prayers of safety and for the medical attention my eyes needed. God bless you all.

Our God is AMAZING for sure! Happy to hear that you made the trip down and back okay and have meds for you and Sherry both! He is on time and is never late, but to us many times we think HE takes too long to answer our prayers or doesn't the way we want them answered, but God's plan is far batter than any plan we could ever have for our good and for His purpose! Hope your eyes are taken care of and you have your glasses soon! Praise God and Thank You, Jesus, for Your blessings on us! Amen! Ma Betty
