I know its no big loss but this will be my last post. I really wanted James to get this message. I'm sure it wont be up for long.

I am really distraught about the way you have been treated. If it were Bryce or even the great Andy Sabich that was being attacked this guy would have been drawn and quartered on his first post, and kicked off the site. most of this guys posts from the beginning have been negative toward you. He said that he has attempted not to make it personal but that's all he has done. If Bryce would have posted the exact same post I am positive that not one person would have asked if he got permission. I really cant believe that they let this guy continue to be an idiot. I am sorry that you have had to deal with this and I hope you have continued success, But I don't think I will be posting here any more, whats the point when a person cant get the support of fellow members against people like this. I have lived in many stated through my life and can attest to the fact that there are indeed many churches that are as open to the public as a school playground. and I haven't heard anyone make a fuss about asking the principal of a school to detect. People shouldn't make assumptions that the areas around the country have the same rules and regulations that are in the area they detect in. In my area some are public and some are not, most of the good ones are not so I have to get permission, but that's my area. I'm sure Goose will soon find someone else to throw rocks at and maybe then he will be dealt with. see ya

By the way I asked GOD last night if we could detect at his house sometime and he said sure thing take your pick:spin:
Hope things get better here and that people forget about their own self righteousness and start caring for each other.

:look::look: even a coin shop dries up if ya get 15 or 20 silvers on every hunt man :look: :look: but heck whos to say....i like comin here to see whats being found EVEN if it aint believeable its still fun .....im now goin back into the lurk mode :ninja:

Your a little confused here. Why would this post be removed??...I have NOTHING to hide.
First off I would NOT HAVE EVER POSTED anything like JamesND did to another forum member when he asked about getting permission
to hunt a country church...and I STAND behind that fact.

I can assure you that I have emails from over 30 people in the last 3 days alone who would not be posting here if the issue was not addressed. ...so I did JUST THAT.

It is ALWAYS best to get permission...regardless of what the law says. Churchgrounds are just a tad different than a public park....obviously!
If you choose to not post here anymore...then good luck to you.
Do I want you to quit posting here?...not at all...but that's your choice. You are more than welcome here...and no grudges are held.

JamesND stated the following in a post below....."I Never Trespass on Private Property and I am getting a bit tired of some of you on here trying to make me look like the bad guy here. The only reason you treat me this way is due to the fact I keep bringing home Keepers and finding great spots that most of you only dream about finding."

I am the forum moderator and will remain neutral with most things...but with all due respect....Nobody is treating him like a "bad guy"...and trust me....not one of the many people who pm'd me are jealous of his finds. The point is NOT his finds...it is the fact that he was directly asked by a forum member if he obtained permission to hunt the churches he ran accross in the country. I am NOT saying he hunted on private property. I am just saying that one should ALWAYS ask permission at a church ground even if there is no law.

This has NOTHING to do with his finds....nor is he being treated a certain way. Many people were just greatly confused at his response to the previous question.
This is the exact response he gave him on this open forum for new users as well as seasoned hunters to view.....
"Normally you don't need permission to hunt Country Churches. The only time I would advise someone to get permission is if the building was a Historical Landmark or if there was a Parsonage next to it. You also want to make sure that they are not privately owned by someone since some Churches are bought up when they closed down and then converted to Homes. Other than that, you should be able to hunt any Country Church unless there is some Law stating that there is no Metal Detecting on these sites which I have never heard of. If you hunt Churches, just make sure to always be neat and tidy when hunting them and to take whatever Junk you may recover with you and dispose it properly. Hope this answered your question and Good Luck and HH to you"

After 2 or 3 forum members made a comment about it...he then posted a long post of how he always obtains permission....GREAT. The question was....and it was a very VALID question...was... Why were there 2 contradictory responses posted?
It had NOTHING to do with his finds??

Anyway...enough of this. This is an open forum and there will always be people who don't agree with everything. If they attack others...they will be warned. If they continue...they will be banned. On something like this though...I had over 30 people up to this point want this issue addressed...and it WAS.

Hope you continue to post...but if not...good luck to you. I for one always enjoyed your posts.

If a forum member feels like a point needs to be made...such as the one about permission...this is an open forum and they are WELCOME to point out issues that will better the hobby.

This thread is CLOSED....so everyone needs to move on.
Any more threads popping up on this subject will be removed.
