Was out plinking today with my CCW weapon.

All stainless, small, very easy to conceal, fun to shoot. My daughter just got here CCW so she was practicing with it also. I like revolvers for personal guns.
They don't jam, not complex when in a stressful situation, cheap to shoot in .38 Special or you can move up to +P rounds or 357 mag. I prefer +p 125 grain.
Fast, less flash, easy to recover from at night, and POA is dead on with POI for that load in this gun. I reload for all my guns. Sure a lot cheaper into days market. Still make my bullet heads for wheel weights from the junk yard and a little added tin. Been doing that since age 16. Another hobby that can last you a lifetime. Had the camera out so grabed a shot of it. I blanked the serial numbers for obvious reason. Anyone else here target shoot with revolvers?

and started reloading at age 15 when it was still almost considered witchcraft;)
Living in the military camp in those days and my best friend's Dad was a Captain Armorer, he taught us.

I sure enjoyed my handguns for many years and because they were never used as an urban personal defense weapon (totally illegal here) i stayed with my original choice in a large bore. Ruger Super Blackhawk in .41 Mag which i carried in the bush and used around the ranch. Second favorite was a Ruger Single Six combo .22-.22 Mag. Best all around plinking and varminting pistol i ever owned!

One of the most fun things was going to the range and making the young self styled hotshot RCMP look like fools with a pistol:lol: there wasn't 1 in 10 of those guys that could hit the inside of a barn.
They would look at our nicely grouped targets after they had sprayed all over and not want to discuss it. I told a couple that if i ever had to get in a gunfight i hoped it was with them:lol: Had to quit that cause they could get vindictive and we were being kinda smartazzed......

I have to admit, all my revolvers are of the big bore, long barreled type and used exclusively for hunting. My concealed carry weapons are both 1911 .45s. But they are a bit of a pain to dress around sometimes and I have been giving some thought to picking up a 2" or 3" .44 revolver. With a revolver there would probably be fewer times that I leave the house unarmed. As Jeff Cooper said, "Rule #1 in a gun fight ... have a gun, any gun!"

Wayne I got the Ruger Black Hawk 22 and 22 Mag. The Mag kills my hears, it's fun to shoot, but the noise it puts out kills my hears way worst than my 357 Mag Black Hawk.

I mess around with. I have a few of the Buntline Rugers for hunting revolver style. Got one of the Stainless Super Blackhawks my wife got me about 15 years ago that does a nice job in the 44mag. The Buntline Single Six is fun in long rifle or the mag. I don't shoot it a lot as a mag. I bought it many years ago and used to carry it on my trap line route. I like hunting with single shots. To stay with that with the pistols I have a bunch of Thompson Contenders in many different calibers. Different size barrels, some scoped, some not. I'll get some pictures up of them. Been weeding thru them in the last year and selling off what I I never used, or didn't care for. Single shot rifles are my main interest. Vault is kinda crowded but its getting better. My only .45 auto is a AMT Hardballer in Stainless. It was my carry piece for many years, with the shoulder holster. Decided to down size on CCW weapon and this one does the trick or my Colt Lightweight. Both fit the same pancake unit. Stay nice and close to body. Usually carry out on the quad or just wandering the woods, always concealed, thats CT state law for hand guns. Got a few 9mm I like. I enjoy reloading as much as any of it. Not sure if I showed these to you or not.

I do have a ruger single six and a ppk.. The single six is very convenient when I go hunting.. I just strap it on and if i see a grouse, I use that rather than the 25-06

shoots pretty decent. Mags are a hand full in snubbies but +p loads are fine. I just started working on it. Using Mothers Metal polish to polish out the machine marks on it. They clean up pretty decent if you take your time. Something to do while watching the idiot box for the morning news. One can never have to many guns.
