....check out the conditions. There were some areas where the grass was "huntable", but I didn't score any deep bullets. I know there are some ther, but I need shorter grass. I did spend about four hours getting used to the LTD. I started in CL boost with a sensitivity of 90. It didn't take me long to figure out that wasn't going to work with the CL mode. Hard to ground balance, and it wouldn't stay ground balanced. I switched to BP mode with 90 sensitivity and it was better, but still hard to control. I spent about an hour with that setting and finally decided for those ground conditions, it wasn't working all that well. I started lowering the sensitivity and found between 75 and 80 it ran like a champ. Didn't think lowering the sensitivity 10 numbers would make such a difference. I did hit a lot of deep iron signals, but found no relics. This camp has been pounded since the early 80's. The last time there was short grass was about two years ago. I was able to pull some deep stuff out with an MXT and DMC IIb, so I know there is more there. I at least got some experience running the LTD. I liked the feature of holding down the red button while in boost to switch into DE mode. WOW!!! You can really see the signal response difference. I wish they had that feature in reverse, as well. While running in DE you could hit the red button to go to boost. That would be sweet. While I'm dreaming, I wish they had Gournd Tracking. I'm not complaining. The new LTD is living up to MY expectations, so far. So, until I can get into a site with better hunting conditions ie: shorter gras, I'll just have to wait patiently.
