Was there a 6" coil for the 1266?

I seem to remember hearing about a 6" coil from an aftermarket source?
Fisher made a 5" coil for those!
And they also made a littler one as well, it was like 3-3/4" it was good for hunting flower pots! LoL!

I Have for mine,
the,
3-3/4"
5"
8" (stock) and the
10" (it might be a 10-1/2")

It was called the Super 6 and was made by Mel Parker in the 90's. I googled it and got some information, it was supposed to be pretty decent.

It was more than decent, it was hot.

Are you the man that made it? If so you know where we can get our hands on one? Also how hot are you talking as far as depth?

I made 100 of them and they sold like hot cakes at the time. The 1266Xs liked Iron so I contacted Jim Lewellen at Fisher and said why don't you make a 6" coil so that you can read between the Iron and get the good targets. His reply was "There is no market for this coil". It was then that I took it upon my self to prove him wrong. Shortly after I started selling my coils at hunts and through the treasure magazines Fisher came out with their 5" coil ...go figure.
The depth of the Super Coin 6" was right at the depth of Fishers 8" stock coil. I still have my original coil and thats it, they are hard to find.

Mel,impressive,I have a five inch coil(actual 4 3/4") for my 1235X very nice coil,but a 6 inch coil would be ideal.HH Ron
