Water dig......

Pickens were slim, but I did venture out to an older section of the lake and got a nice mid tone. Looking in the scoop I seen a nickel that looked old and had a black crud on it. I put it in my fingers and rubbed them together under water and it all came right off and left me with a shiny 1914 buffalo nickel!
I love digging old coins in the water. Guess what part of the lake I will dig next time! :)
Kinda weird how the black wiped right off. I do remember digging shiny wheats there before and shiny Indians in a different lake. They look kinda sand blasted though.

Congrats on the Buffalo Nickel and an old one at that! Since you didn't find it in salt water, it is npt pitted like when Lorraine found and cleaned them! Doing good in those water digs! :clapping:

God Bless!

I bet you had fun anyway!! Slim pickens are better than none...especially when you get a buffalo!!

I wonder how long that has waited there for you to find? Water hunting in the summer is the way to go and beat the heat. Nice find

It was dropped in the teens! the detail is very good except for the sand blasted look. I will go looking for more! :) It is a part of the lake no one hunts! :)
