Frank/Tom,

There are some photos that might help.
Accidentally doubled on a couple.
Resolution is a bit low, but you'll get an idea of what I use.
Image 1: Cable gland, back-nut, and O-ring
Image 2: Backpack. I have some closed cell foam between the container and my back
Image 3: Top of the container showing 2 x 20mm holes that need to be drilled accurately.
Image 4: Top of the container and threaded cap. Don't worry about excess primer and glue
Image 5: Close up of cable gland. I have backfilled both top/bottom and in between with silicone after tightening the gland up. Probably overkill, but I'm not taking any chances.
Image 6: Cable gland mounted to cable. Note the extra cable between collar (and headphone jack although not shown) and the cable gland
Tony.
PS You need at least 10" of cable (headphone/coil) before the cable gland is set in place. This allows room to pull the cable through into the container and connect up to the control box (which I wrap in foam).

The unit is real neat. I take it the whole thing floats up when in the water to your neck, guess it has to? For wading this is a nice setup.
Thank you Tony for sharing this...I know you had to borrow a camera to take these shots and I appreciate it for all of us...Frank

Frank,
The back pack has a waist strap that secures everything nicely to your body.
I've been out to chest deep and not even noticed the backpack or any flotation problems.
Anything deeper might be a problem unless the container or backpack was weighted.
Tony.
