I own an MXT and moved to Cape Cod Mass last October.
I never posted on this forum but have been comming here often to learn all I can about beach hunting because up until now I only hunted inland.
I have been to the beach several times so far, we have had record snow fall this year so detecting has been less frquent than I have hoped.
I am finding so far that the MXT works quite well on the beaches. It is all a matter of knowing your machine and listening to what it is telling you.
Like most detectors when going from dry to wet sand it will start to get noisy. I have found the trick to over come this is to pump the coil up and down repeatedly until it smooths out. I use the relic mode, 2 disc and 7-9 sensitivity, trigger centered, and ground on salt.
My finances do not allow for a pi detector at this time, and trading it is out of the question,I simply like the MXT too much.
I am looking forward to posting here about the beach hunts I will have in the summer.
This forum is truly informative and I hope I get to know some of you through my posts.
HH to all
