Weather Update

First of all, thank you to all who prayed about the weather. Having severe thunderstorms and tornadoes around here is so common that many of us probably do not give the weather too much thought, or the respect that we should. You kind of get used to seeing the little map in the corner of the television screen highlighting the affected counties, and the watches and warnings scrolling across the bottom of the screen! The weather folks had really been talking about, and warning us about, the potential of the storms that were heading our way this weekend. That kind of talk usually causes me to be more cautious, but for some reason I was really concerned this time. I've had that particular feeling only one other time, and that was the night a tornado touched down in my rural community and really tore the place up. I have been caught in the middle of a couple of other tornado touch downs that weren't quite that bad, but I didn't have that feeling before either one of those! I don't know why I had such concern this time! Anyway, the storm system(s) that rolled through here over the past 48 hours weren't as bad as they had anticipated, although, they were plenty bad enough. Friday night we had some really AWFUL lightening, wind and rain, with most of the tornado activity staying in the southern part of the state. Last night is when the northeastern section of the state (where I live) took the biggest hit. It moved through very quickly and packed a punch! So far, I haven't heard whether or not a tornado actually touched down, but there were several tornado warnings issued. My county (Etowah County) was under a warning, with the TV showing that rotation was directly over my area. We had a lot of lightening, WIND, hale, rain, etc., but nothing too major. Some limbs down around the yard and driveway... It's over for now. Three days of it for this last week! They say there's a possibility of more storms on Tuesday. We'll see... Anyway, thank you all again for your prayers! I have NO doubt that prayer is the reason things didn't get as bad as expected! It's a lot cooler outside now that the system moved through! Temps are supposed to be back down into the low 30's tonight! I'm gonna FREEZE after getting used to daytime temps in the mid to upper 70's and night time temps in the 50's and 60's! But, it'll be no time at all until we're back up there again, and then.... then comes the summer heat. 90's, 100's, and 99% humidity.

Praise GOD that the storm ws not as bad as first exspected.

Prayers work and God is good in pleasing His children! I am glad the weather wasn't as bad as it could have been, but bad enough to cause harm it seems! May He protect in any stormy weather that is coming or will come and give you peace and rest in knowing it is in His care, for He provides and protects His own who ask of Him!

We have had a lot of rain here in MO and it is colder here also! Cliff and I were both cold last night and we each had to reach for extra cover, as it had been warmer at night, too, and up in the 60's, 70's and 80's during the day! We had some cold, white stuff this morning, very wet and white but didn't cover everything and melted right away!

Take care and always remember God is on His throne and we can go to Him anytime to praise, talk or even complain to Him, but mostly He wants our prayers and praises! God Bless! Betty
