Week end hunt.

I MD'ed two places. One was a demo-ed house and the other was the dirt from houses they demo-ed already. They used the top soil for the park and walk ways alone the new road being built in town. It is all a real mix with old and new. That is what you will see in these pictures. Here is the whole mess.

This is after I cleaned up the relic's? Good luck charm, pocket watch, an old creamery cap and always an old gas valve. etc.....I also find 5 to 10 of these miner's brass tags a year.

These are the coins and the marbles I eye along the way. The one isn't a musket ball, it is a clay marble. I find quite a few every year, many times in the hole with a coin. Two IH. a 1906 and a 1890. Wheat's are:1918, 1928, 1935, 1940,1940, 1949, 1955,1958 and a bus token. also a flattened nickel. Can't read the date.

I can't figure out what this is? The hinge still works, but won't close because it is misshaped.

This lapel pin? is heavy. The straight pin is still on the back. It looks like there was something in the center.

It is getting there.

Looks like you have been pretty busy. You have found alot of good stuff and your landscape photo is awesome!!

Nice, pile of finds. We spent nearly two year's in Fairmont many year's ago and I still have some very fond memories of fishing the North Fork of the South Branch of the Potomic. HH jim tn

That is some interesting stuff, glad you posted your finds. Let us know when you find out what that hinged thing is.

a compass case, John.

Neat finds and I love to see all those Wheats. Maybe a silver or two will surface.

I thought it was a lensatic compass. It must have been a nice one in it's day.
In my area, if you get a coin in the 1800's it is a good day, but I do love to see silver.

I have a lot of fond memories of that area also. I have done a lot of caving in that area. My grandfather had a camp on the North Fork in site of Seneca Rock.
