Got out a few times this Labor Day weekend but the older finds were few and far between. I didn't make it to the spot I wanted to try this weekend but I am for sure going next weekend to try and find some nice Barber Coinage I hope. What I did get were alright finds but the silver sure is getting tough to find. This is what I got. I found 4 Silver this time which consisted of 1 Washington Quarter dated 1944 which was a mere 2" deep if that, 1 Mercury Dime dated 1942-d which was a good 8"+, 1 Roosevelt Dime dated 1956-d and 1 Canadian Dime dated 1956. I found 1 Older Jefferson Nickel dated 1958-d. I also came up with 4 Indian Heads which 3 were in the same hole and they are dated 1885,1896,1906, and 1907. The 3 that came from the same hole are in really bad shape which I thought to be odd because I have found Indians at this site before and they were never in the shape these 3 were in. Tough Luck I guess! I also found another 28 Wheats dated 1912,1914,1918-d,1920-s,1925-d,1929,(2)1930-d,1932-d,1939-d,1941-d,(2)1942-d,1944,(4)1945-d,(2)1946-d,(4)1947-d,(2)1951-d, and (2)1958-d. Plenty of Wheats but were was the silver? Someone must have been sniping the silver at these sites or I just couldn't hit the silver that was there. I guess better luck next time. I also found a few Misc. Items. They are a 25c Play Coin, 2 Keys, an old Mother of Pearl Button (I think that is what they are called?), another button that says Scovill MFG Co. Waterbury on the back and a mystery Item. And Lastly, the Clad Coinage Count. I found 12 Quarters, 34 Dimes and 104 Pennies. I would have found some Nickels but it would have taken forever to find them in all the trash I was in during the weekend. Where has all the silver gone, long time passing? But you are doing well, James. The amount of silver lost is finite, modern coins are junk, and therefore the silver coins are a non-renewing and limited resource. But not to worry, the stuff is still out there, as you keep showing me
