Weight, Ergonomics and cures...

First of all let me say third time around on an Explorer seems to have worked..Best guts of any machine I ever used however killed my back..It seems careful setting of the lower rod and armrest so your arm hangs straight down and you glide the coil over the ground works for me relative arm and shoulder fatigue..Seems like I had the lower rod a tad short and was actually bending which caused a back problem which has plagued me for years. Had a fellow check me out and made it longer so I was standing straight and two times out seems to have cured all my problems. For those that have a good back might want to try Doc's harness as feedback seems to be great as it takes weight off the arms and shoulder and transfers it to the larger back muscles for long hours in the field..Seems like I am good to go and at 67 surely no weightlifter so you might want to experiment a bit yourself.

I have the Exp II for about a month and I ordered Doc's harness the same day I order the Exp. I've had problems with my shoulder/elbow so I didn't want to take any chances.
The harness works great! The only time I don't need to use it is when I'm on grass; at the beach it's a must.
I would recommend it to anyone who has a problem dealing with the weight of the ExpII for long periods of time.
As far as the height adjustment, I had the very same problem. Now I have it set up so my posture is better and no more soreness in my back. Mom was right after all... "Don't slouch! Stand up straight!!!" <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">

I have the XS and recently bought the platapus coil. Sure has better balance. Gives you less fatigue and more up time. Havn't tried the swingy thingy yet. My back and joints got to hurting me too. I met this Dr Goen who was Presentident of two hospitals in Tula, he told me about some stuff that fixed his joints and also his sons, a heart surgen, knees. Canceled replacement surgery on both knees. I tried it and it worked for me. If interested let me know.
