weird find

CanadaDig

New member
I an iffy signal and dug about 5 inches and used pinpointer. this is what was under the ground, kept thinking that their was something under this rock.

it has a shiny crust on it. I broke half of it to get it out of the ground. Its slightly magnetic, mostly stone. I have seen some weird rocks before but this one made me dig and clean it up. Could this be slag or a Meteorite? my luck its slag but its very strange? Has anyone seen something like this before. You can see the Iron inside the stone. the crust appears on the outside is glassy and about 1/8 inch thick.

NO! It's a SPACE PEANUT!!!!

I can say with certainty that it isn't a meteorite, but it is a cool find!

Haha, space peanut, that's funny.

Don't worry, it's not just your luck. Would have been the same thing for me. A couple of years ago I used to get excited about certain rocks I would find, and some were really convincing, but I still haven't found one. I hope you do find one and I thank you for sharing this one with us.

Troy you are a Hoot!

Almost looks like it could be a piece of coal.

100% sure its slag.A decay product from iron making. Can vary in colours.

Nice just the same.
