Well folks, I guess we had better prepare for the ice or white stuff storm that....

is on the way for the Mid-West and maybe Mike, me son, will get lots to be able to work and provide a living for his family! People are buying salt and etc with shovels flying off the shelves in the Hardware Stores...but Ma will just snuggle in and allow God to take care of it by melting it off sooner or later! Today is rather rainy but not a lot which the weather people say is a prelude to what is coming with maybe rain which will be freezing rain for lots of icy roads or the white stuff but could be both with the white stuff falling on top of the ice, which will be really dangerous for driving and walking as it comes in tomorrow or tomorrow night! I remember winters when we had lots of ice and also the white stuff and scraping it off the windshields and windows of the car after working all day or at night! Either way when it melts there will be water in th ground to raise the water table for the dry spells, so God allows what is needed for one or the other! It was very cold with white stuff on the frozen ground when my first daughter, Susan, was born Feb 1, 1956, who will be 55 and that sure does make me feel my age! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

looks like the freezing rain and ice will go south of us! Thank God! We might get a foot of the white stuff? It will be a lot of work for me. Thanks again God!
I know many will lose power from the ice. Let us pray they don't!

Hi Steve....Don't over do and be careful with the blower and hope you don't have to shovel any of the white stuff, as that surely would wear you out and make you ache, as I know because I've been there and done tha! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

60's here in Middle Georgia! getting a little colder later this week. sending a friend in StCharles Mo a box of warm air! just thought i would rub it in! honestly folks i feel for you! we have had the coldest winter in a long time, and a small ice storm that shut us down, because we dont have enough of the white stuff to justify and maintain much equipment to do anything. im looking at the gulf coast because of the weather here now! just wishing is all i can do. the great news..... met a fellow christian today to be a new hunting partner! did not have one anymore due to bad life choices of old ones who knew better. they were as good as they come doing it, and bad as they come elseways. they need prayer. i expressed my thoughts, and was basically told to take a hike, which i was planning on doing anyway. now to the future with a good family man with morals. that will be as big a treasure as i could find, a good friend! PS ....going to dig a goodie for you poor snowbound buddies!

Well, thank you dixiedigger57 for rubbing it in by going detecting when most on here cannot because of the icy cold weather! Go find some treasure and let us know what you have found, as we like to know and see the pics if able to get them posted! Yes, some friends end up not being friends and will leave when Jesus' name is spoken and how He works in our lives! The whole world needs prayer, as things are looking really bad with most of Europe of the Muslim religion and their taking over Egypt now and almost the USA unless we can have a decent, moral Pres & VP elected in 2012! Praying that God will intercede for His Children and help us to get someone who doesn't lie all the time and is so Liberal or arrogant that he thinks his way is only the right way, but really is the wrong way for the USA and for entering into Heaven! May God Bless and meet your needs and fill your treasure bag or pouch with lots of goodies! Amen! Ma Betty

STAY SAFE OUT THERE IN MO LAND MA. HEAR YOU ALL AROUND SAINT LOUIE ARE GETTING IT PRETTY GOOD OR BAD RIGHT NOW, WITH MORE TO COME.

Thanks DK....I sure will try! Please pray for my children and grandchildren and all who have to be out driving and/or working in this icy and freezing bad weather! They say this will be the worst yet during this winter, but we've had them before, although they are supposed to be better prepared for it this time! The National Guard is on alert and the electric company has their workers on standby and prepared with 500 trucks from other states to help with repairs and get power back on should it be as bad or worse than it was in 2006 when it was a mess from the ice storm and some didn't get power back on for up to two weeks! The City and County have their salt trucks prepared and ready to go when the storm hits or before, as we already have plenty glazed with ice! I used to drive in it, but no more....I intend to stay in and prevent, hopefully, any falling or broken bones! So far I have been protected and blessed to not have anything broken and I even walked on ice when pregnant with my son in the winter of 1958 & 1959....held to trees though...remember the young aren't afraid or don't have much sense because we would live forever and nothing could harm us! :crylol: May God Bless you all with safety, too! Amen! Ma Betty

Better hunker down, Ma! I'll be praying for ya! It was in the mid 70's here on Saturday and 71 on Sunday. Today (Monday) we were in the upper 60's. Probably would have been higher but we had lots of cloud cover and drizzle. I hear that we have some very heavy rain, high winds and possible severe storms on docket for tomorrow. Probably the tail end of what will be snow and ice for you.

This winter (and last winter) have been unusually cold for us. And this year we have dealt with more snow and ice than we've had in MANY YEARS. The big snow we got after Christmas stayed on the ground for well over a week, with clumps here and there for over two weeks. I love it when it snows here (it very rarely does... until this year), but we are used to it melting the same day or only sticking around for a day or two! I was soooooo SICK OF THE WHITE CRAP after about the 3rd day!!!!! I don't see how you folks up North cope with it. I wanted my green yard back and for the wet mess being tracked in the house to be GONE!!!! I hope we get more snow this winter but the kind that lasts for a very short time!

Lisa

Thank you Lisa, and I think most people feel like you do during a white storm and are glad to get rid of the stuff as soon as possible which looks pretty the first day or two and then we pray the mess to be gone! But living in a colder climate it lasts longer and sometimes we have it all winter depending on how often and how deep it falls upon us! I am glad I am not in the North-Eastern states because they usually get loads of the white stuff and have this winter! It is raining, sleeting and freezing all at the same time here and will be very dangerous with that white stuff and sleet is on top, because it will be very slick underneath! Yes, I will be snuggly and warm (My Prayers....Please God don't let our power go off and keep our trees safe from branches and limbs breaking off, in Jesus' name I pray) as long as I don't try to get out in it and I don't have to unless it is to the mailbox and back or I get too ill, which I pray will not happen! Amen! May Jesus wrap His loving arms of comfort and peace around you and your family and keep you all safer and enjoying life better....been hard on you and all but God is with you and will never fail nor leave you! Amen! Ma Betty

Thank you, Martin and I am doing fine and being happy in the Lord and praying that our power will stay on and our trees will be safe from branches breaking off....one ice storm a few years ago caused one of the Pines in the Common Ground to be stripped of most of its branches....sure was a mess and looked pitiful! I have a very large and beautiful Pine Tree near my front yard (in the Common Ground) that I am praying will not lose its branches or limbs as it is covered with ice right now and bowing to the ground! I see it and my Dogwood from my kitchen window and I sure wouldn't want to see it stripped down to just a trunk standing! The Lord is good so I believe by faith that He will keep everything safe for me and that falling over something will not happen again but if I do, Jesus is there to pick me up for He cares for me and all God's Children! Amen! Ma Betty

well, i jinxed meself good! ribbing you about snow! RAIN RAIN RAIN. thunderstorm now at 10pm and wind. need a wet suit and a Pi detector, but too much lighting anyhow. how you folks doing in the snow? got friends and family in Minn, Mo, Tenn, Colorado. pray for our Aussie friends too with the cyclone coming at them, seems to be nice guys on forums. take care ya'll stay warm!

Hi dixiedigger....sorry to hear about all the rain from the thunderstorm, but could be worse, as you could have what we have here in MO....lots of sleet, ice and some of the white stuff on top of that! Very cold and dangerous driving on the ice covered roads! 'Tis better if people stayed home and not be travelling if they can! Hope you dry out where you are! We didn't get as much of the white stuff like other places in MO and other states...so that is good! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

Hope you like it here. We got a foot from the blizzard but many drifts over 4 feet!
God bless.

Mike
