well I got the answer on the ferorus audio

Gordons test was done in preset relic and that means multitones and ferrous sounds.

I havent heard the tone in air for a dime but the tone should be with a higher pitch in air on a dime.

I think it is much lower , and if it is that must be because of the iron close by.
 
gives it's usual low "blat". In ferrous, I was just listening for a repeatable non-iron tone and looking at the ID in both digital and smartfind at the same time(really awesome!) and depth with care to pinpoint the target forthe best ID and for sizing.
