Well I went back out to the same place where the deep targets are

Tinfoil

New member
I used the M/L 10" coil on my SE. Used the Pitch hold mode. Didn't dig anything deeper then 8"s today. I did reaffirm the fact that you don't lose targets when you disturb the dirt. Mater of fact I even went so far as kick the targets back in the hole to see if they would ID and pinpoint. I Even pushed some down deeper in the dirt with the edge of my small shovel. They ALL IDed and the few Tinfoil Targets would Pinpoint. 90% of the targets IDed and 100% Pinpointed even when I put them back in the hole. Don't even think about it with my Exp ll. So I don't know what M/L did and I don't really care but, it is as I say it is. Maybe if some of you guys would get off the bad mouth also your A$$ and spend some time using the SE instead of bad mouthing the machine you might find some of these things out. You might even want to take a look at the manual to see if they put any new information in it that you might need . Like page 62  . I really hate to see a few control the masses. Matter of fact don't believe any thing I have Posted. Just take your machine out and use the thing and learn everything for your self and make up your own mind. Don't let any body tell you anything. If I did that I damn sure would be broke and would not be able to do the the things I want to do when I want to do them and do it in style. I will tell you one thing though. There are guys out there that will pay a $1000 for a machine, won't spend the time to learn it, they will praise the hell out of it till they get it sold and get some of there money back and then bad mouth the crap out of the machine. So many have there own agendas so why believe anybody. So find out for yourself. There are a few that I trust and will listen to what they have to say. What I will not listen to is a person that bashes and bad mouths and don't even read the damn manual or don't spend the time to learn all he can about his machine. When Push Comes To Shove YOU are the one that has to do all the weighing of what you read and who is saying it and then you still have to find out for yourself whether the machine will even work in your area of the country. I could say some real nasty things about the Nay Sayers but I just don't do that as they have a right to there opinion just like I have a right to mine. I have to pay for my machine just like everybody else does and I don't get any bigger brake then anybody else does. I will say I am a savvy buyer and I do shop around and get Ideas on how much they are selling for. That is just smart buying the way I got it figured. You have to take what the Nay Sayers say with the same grain of salt that you take a person that Posts what he has found out that the machine will really do. So in closing I would like to say this and you can Quote me on this: Results count and all the rest ain't nothing but Bull S$$t. So go out there and find out what the new SE will really do. Nay sayers always have a Agenda. Don't ever be a Damn Lemming. See what happens when I get wound up. :bouncy:  :D: :D: HH guys and May All Your Days Be Filled With GOLD. Jerry aka Tinfoil.

I totally agree with you on this Tinfoil. If the user is too stubborn or expected to just turn the detector on and find vast amounts of treasure with it without even having a few learning curves, then they are truly mislead either buy a quick buy because of supposed hype or by a greedy dealer. I know one dealer that would care less what problems you would have in the field, he just cares about the profit. I am still waiting for Rick(ND) to get one in so I can give it a try and really put it to a field test. It is too bad that some people criticize about new products such as the Explorer SE without even have given it a try for themselves for reasons of either price and can't afford it or just thinking that their current detector is still the best and don't need to upgrade since so few improvements. I for one hope when I give the SE a try that this Pitch Hold will help Identify the deeper targets and net more of those elusive deep coins and other artifacts that we detectorist's like to hunt for. I have always liked the Explorer models since my purchase in fall of 2001 and wouldn't use any other detector since I know what this detector will do out in the field and have the experience from running it to be able to give the all new Explorer SE a true test. That is the main thing to have when testing any machine and that is experience because if you have little to no experience at all with a detector, you will surely have negative comments about that particular unit since the user didn't have the knowledge of how to set it up and what to listen and look for in the field. Bravo to a great post Tinfoil and I am with you 100%. Good Luck and HH.:clapping::thumbup:

He is the one I always call when I want to know something about the M/L machines. I didn't have any problem paying my money for the update. $1095 like everyone else has to pay for the machine. Was it worth it for the new updates, for me Yes. They just left out a few of the good things on there update info that I have found out or verified to be true. Rick should be getting the new ones in a short time. I know he is waiting for his too. I talked to Dick Schultz and he can't tell me anything on the SE as he hasn't even had a chance to get one to check out for himself. Later bud and take Rick with you once in a while to get some of that good stuff. You are going to like the new SE. I know I do. HH Jerry aka Tinfoil.

ALL RIGHT Jerry............couldn't have said it better myself!!!!!! If I had, I would be accused of having the DEALER AGENDA.:starwars:

I am so glad we have REAL people like you posting here on the forum.

I appreciate you!

Easy now big guy! :bouncy: don't want anyone here to blow a fuse  If I can get out this weekend for a little hunt I will try your experiment with both my XS and SE and see what happens.

The only other thought that comes to mind is that the X-1 probe by Run-Ray easily circumvents this "issue" and I would never use a detector again without that wonderful X-1 attached.

Tough crew here when it comes to being able to express your opinions....man, this forum makes the Middle East look like a picnic!

my dealer for Posting about the stuff I buy from him. Well I do get a discount from him it is the same damn one everyone else gets. I learned a long time ago especially if you are in Business. You can Quote me on this: "Friends are Friends, but Business is Business and when you mix them and give to one more then you do the other you are out of Business no matter what." So for the person that insinuated that, I have two things for you. :biteme: :pulltab:. I was going to add one more but I said 2. That would lower me to his :pulltab: level. So be care full around me, you don't want to be getting to friendly with me. You might be accused of giving big Discounts or something like that to your Friends.  :bouncy: . You need to get out with the New SE and have some fun. Fixing to load up my SE and see if I can find out anything else they forgot to add they didn't tell us. :D: . Later HH Jerry aka Tinfoil

Even though you seem to hate me you ol' scudder - I don't care, you're a pretty funny guy anyway (I mean that in the kindest sense)....I'm your huckleberry! Good luck with your hunt today!

I have always associated with the REAL people, and not the NERDS........... my taste for people in my life leads to real people.

Besides.....I have always been a rebel....whether it be on my Harley, or on the battlefield, or on a forum.

Thanks for the warning me Jerry......but I'll choose those with whom I care to be associated with, and that would be the likes of you.:usaflag:

A ID Edge, Excall 1000 and the SE. Paid that for the Excal. So I have to pay the same as anybody else. As long as I can get the first one out of the shoot I am satisfied. I get a great big enjoyment out of testing them first. That way I can read the Posts and see who really knows what they are talking about and who is full of HYPE and B.S. This old guy that has been doing this for a while gets a kick out of reading the HYPE. Then you got the guys like B. Bill, Mike, Monte and Randy that really know what they are doing and talking about. They do there testing and comparing in the right manner and use the right techniques for really letting you guys know what the machines really are doing. Then you got guys like me that are not into the Tech. part of it as I am just concerned in what I got to do to get it to hunt in the places I hunt and getting the best performance the machine will produce. Every place is different and machines perform differently. You have to find out what works and performs for you and your machine and your area. The Tech. stuff is sort of a 2 or 3 in priority. I will get into the Tech. stuff later if I decide I want my head in the clouds and want a headache to tide me over till I decide I want to do that tech stuff again. Which ain't often. It makes me  : bouncy:. When I first started out hunting 2 old guys at two different times taught me a lot and always said. Knowing what is inside of a machine and the Tech. behind it is not important. Leave that to those that like that kind of stuff as they will spend most of there time trying to Analise everything while you are out hunting and taking home the good stuff. Knowing how to set your machine up and making it perform to its best ability and getting the good stuff, that is what is important. Brother let me tell you they really had the good stuff too to prove that point. The only thing you have to do is sort through the HYPE and listen to the guys that really know what they are talking about. That in it's self is not real easy to do. Read as much about your machine as you can. Search the archives here on the Find Mall as it don't get any better then this. I wish I had of had this king of stuff to read 20 years ago. You all are so very lucky to sort of cut to the chase on these machines. Anyway ya'll just get out and go hunting and learn this new SE and Post some good and bad things about the machine you like and dislike but not until you spend time with it. See I got wound up again. Might as well get wound up no sooner then I got to the place I was going to hunt at it started to rain like hell and I left my Shadow X5 at home. So no hunting for me today. Maybe I will just hang around and read your guys Posts today and do some Research on some spots I can go hunt. I do have to go back water hunting and get enough Gold to pay for this SE. :D: :D: HH and Later Jerry aka Tinfoil

I have occasionally taken Rick to a number of my spots and he is the dealer that I purchased my Explorer XS from back in fall 2001. There is no-one better to buy from than Rick at R&L Enterprises. He is there if you have any questions or problems with your detector and works with you to try and fix the problem. I told Rick that if he can this Sunday, to meet me up at this spot of mine where I found the 20+ Silver this last weekend so he can have a shot at getting a few pieces of silver added to his collection. If Rick goes and finds a few coins, I will have to make sure he posts them here so you can see how he did. Thanks again Tinfoil and Good Luck and HH.

This is funny in a way as James took me to a school this past summer and he pulls out a walking lib half I wanted, so the next day I go back and pick out a Franklin half he wants to find as even though he finds a lot of half's he never found a Franklin half. Now a couple years ago I met him at another site and I pick out a Franklin half and while I am in my glory as this site has been pounded to death he go no more than 20 feet away and gets the Walking lib half I wanted.
Then there is the other ballfields that we knew about that too has been hit hard and never find much, but James find the one area where there is a lot of alum can, but there is also silver there too. I worked it and found a signal that was loud like a can, but when I picked the coil up it didn't seem as big and out pops another Franklin half.
Will have to get up to that spot this weekend James been doing good at and see if I can get James Franklin half again, that should make his day, but if I do I bet he will get the barber half I want.
I just hope my SE will be here on Friday as i sure would like to take that with and see what it can do.
