Well, my 1977 Mercury Monarch is gone but still in the family......

my daughter, Tami and son-in-law, Troy, came up from Benton, MO today and hauled it away! It looks so good and because it has a 6-cylinder engine, he is going to fix it up and drive it back and forth to work, as it doesn't use much gas at all...always was economical for me to drive, especialy on the highways! He is a mechanic and is always working on Tami's car and his truck and brother's Semi, so shouldn't be too much trouble or expense for him to get it going for using! My dad bought it new in 1977 and then I bought it from the estate in 1984 and drove it until 2008 when I didn't renew the license in Sept 2007! Now my daughter and her hubby have it! I gave it to them and I hope it helps them in some way to meet their needs better! Had a nice visit with both of them which blessed me and made my day, as I don't get to see them very often! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

You still have another car don't you?

Thanks Steve and yes, if it wasn't for Troy's ability to keep their cars running they would really be in financial stress! He said today that their vehicles might be old but no payments have to be made, as they belong to him and Tami and not the banks or loan companies! He has had to work outdoors as a construction home builder in the heat and being in his 40's he can't take the heat and humidty like when he was younger, of course in the winter it is just the opposite too cold many times! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

Yes, Mike, I have my 91 Toyota Tercel to get around in! I hadn't driven the Mercury since Sept 2007....the last time I had to get it licensed and it wouldn't pass inspection because the signal lights weren't working properly and since it is a standard shift with no power of any kind, it was getting too diffiuclt for me to drive it, as my energy depletes too soon by trying to be the power for a big, heavy two-door car! But drove it from 1984 until Sept 2007.......was a good inexpensive car for me and now the Toyota is easier to handle and manuver but like the Merc....no A/C but they both had good heaters..did have to have heating coils put in the Merc two times, as it was getting sooooo old like MA! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

Sometimes it's better to pass things on then let them sit around collecting dust. A brother-in-Christ did some brake work on my Ford Ranger recently and his daughter was moving to Florida to take a teaching job. She needed a good camera, for the classroom, but didn't have a dime to her name. So ... I gave her my Fuji with expandable lens. I wasn't using it anymore and it was just what the doctor ordered, for her needs. To tell you the truth, it made me feel good to give and that it would be useful to someone else. One good turn deserves another. That's what God's Words says.

Yes, Martin, and I let it sit around too long, thinking I could get some much needed money for myself, but the more I thought about it, I wanted it to stay in the family! My son didn't want it, and I never asked my oldest daughter, Susan and Bill if they wanted it, because they don't have a garage just a car port and there was no room to park it because they have a truck and a car and being in Ste. Genevieve, MO, I doubt that an unlicensed car could be parked on the street! So, I asked Tami and Troy, and he took it, as he knows how to get cars running with just buying the auto parts and has plenty of room to park it in an area where there are all kinds of house, trailers and etc.; therefore, shouldn't have any problem with it at his brother;s house where they live and take care of while he is out on the road with his Semi! Made Troy happy and made me feel good for Tami and him both, as they have so many health and financial problems and need some stress taken off them, especially Tami, who is in very poor health for her age of 42 and has to work cleaning rooms and the lobby at the Victorian Inn in Cape Girardeau! Troy works helping to build homes when he isn't ill or the weather is bad enough to shut the buidling down for a few days or weeks! I love my children and it grieves my heart when they have to struggle so, like I have most of my life but in a way that means we seek the Lord Jesus Christ even more when the trials really get tough and get truly saved or trust Him more! May God have mercy and keep on blessing! Amen! Ma Betty
