Had to go with plan "B" today and hit a site I wasnt thrilled to detect though it had given up two barber dimes earlier this year. I used my Explorer Xs, stock coil,Iron Mask -14, Deep and Ferrous. I worked this area for 2 hrs and only got a couple pennies and a 9 inch deep aluminum bottle cap
I was just about ready to call it quits in disgust but decided to give the field one last sweep. Got two shallow wheats after a few minutes and then the signal I was praying to get, an 8 inch deep silver dime signal( crosshairs partially off the top of the screen) but moving over to quarter also.Didnt think too much it moving from dime to quarter.Dug a 6-7 inch deep plug and the X1 probe screamed! Dug a little deeper and popped out his worn 1920S Standing Liberty Quarter! Man was I pleasantly surprised!! Id been all over this place earlier this year with another Explorer and a different brand detector. Guess Id better not give up on this site yet))
