Here I am, FINALLY. I posted a few days ago that Tim and I were back from our five day trip and that I would be catching up the next day. As you know, that didn't happen. Our neighbor who lived across the pasture from us died the next day and we were tied up with that for a while. Then, our neighbor who lived across the woods from us was tragically killed in a car wreck - he burned to death because no one could get him out in time. We were then tied up with that situation for several days. Been running here and there, "like a chicken with its head cut off," trying to tend to first one thing, then another. It has been a busy time! I started out reading posts tonight in hopes of replying to most but it just ain't gonna happen! There are too many of them. I hope I didn't miss anything too important. If I did, then please fill me in. I did miss all of you and have been praying for all the folks on the forum.

Lisa

Thanks, Rick. My family is doing okay - and we appreciate your prayers. Please remember the family members left behind after the deaths of our neighbors.

Lisa

PS - What in the world are you doing up at this hour??? lol!

Glad to see you back ,we missed ya. Sorry to hear about all the losses will keep everyone in prayer.

Try to get some rest and back in the 'groove'. God bless

Sorry to hear about the deaths and will be praying for their families and yours! Remember, to slow down and smell the Roses, as life passes too fast! Amen! God Bless! Ma Betty

Tim and I try to take several little trips throughout the year. Isn't as easy to get aways these days as it use to be due to caring for our folks, but we try to make time whenever possible. When we aren't able to actually hit the road, we try to do things close to home. We sometimes take in a movie at the theater, go out to eat, or other things. We really enjoy riding 4 wheelers (I used to be an instructor for ASI - for 17 years, doing the 4 wheeler classes for Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki, and all the brands), or even riding together in the side-by-side (Kawasaki Mule). Besides the land we live on, we also own several acres in the middle of nowhere... in the wilderness... on the side of a mountain. About a year before we were married we built a little shack on this land (built it about 27 1/2 years ago). We often ride the 4 wheelers or Mule over there just to trail ride and usually end up grilling some steaks, chicken, or whatever. Matter of fact, we were over there last Thursday and I took a few pictures. I'll go ahead and post them here. Later on I will post pictures of the area so you can see just how pretty it really is.

We took the Mule that day instead of the 4 wheelers:

The grill Tim cemented in the ground & one of the rock benches he built. There's more but no pictures at this time.

Tim is looking like he's going to sleep while we wait on supper to cook.

The food is almost ready... and I was PAST ready to eat it! Ha!

Since there were no pictures of me on this trip, I'll throw a random one in for good measure.

Nice pics and sounds like you and hubby Tim have a nice time together when you can! Your pic shows you are an active gal with a nice shape and pretty face! Your smiles must brighten everyone's life who are around you....keep smilin' and stay happy by enjoying your trips with your hubby! God Bless! Ma Betty

Pretty cool area to relax and do some grilling. Almost makes me want to fire upour grill...if nthe chicken was thawed I would.

Like the fourf wheeler. Looked at a new one today and can't afford the 7 grand price tag - more than I spent on our van.

Thank you for the kind words, Ma, but I'm far from having the "nice shape and pretty face" you mentioned! But I sure appreciate it anyway! lol Active - defiitely!

Thanks again, Lisa

You are welcome, Lisa, and what I posted is true.....you are a beautiful YOUNG lady! Ma used to look better but my younger figure has gone by the way side, for I am in my golden years....but not much gold!   God Bless! Ma Betty

46 might not be old, but I sure feel old sometimes! Especially when I'm aching from head to toe or have to do something that I really don't have the energy to do.

Thanks again,

Lisa

I really like 4 wheeler riding in the woods I have a 2008 honda rancher . Nothing like coming home from work and taking a spin on it with my wife and daughter.

We love to ride too. Been doing it for many, many, years. My daughter has a Honda Rancher, too. Julie's is an ES, is yours? Mine is a Yamaha 350 Grizzly 4 wheel drive. We have a variety of them around here, plus the Kawasaki Mule side-by-side that was in the picture I posted. I like the Mule too, especially when I can set back and someone else do the driving.

No I really wanted the manual shift so I had to get one it is a 420 . The only thing I do not like about manual shifts is the do not have gauges , just red and green lights. It has lots of power though.

Hi Lisa,

My daughter, Tami, has Fibromyalgia and Chronic Bronchitis and she has difficulty in working at the Victoria Inn in Cape Girardeau, MO, and getting enough rest to keep from being so tired! If I remember correctly, you said you have Fibromyalgia, too! Therefore, I do understand how tired and achy you also get! I may be wrong about this, because I have difficulty remembering, along without everything else my old body and mind have to put up with!

May our Lord touch you with His healing virtue and heal you, the same as I pray for Tami, and give you comfort and peace! Tami still looks good at 41 but is gaining weight from having to take pills for her Fibromyalgia and depression! She's not happy about it, but looks far better than she did in 2007 when she was sooooo thin and looked anoresic! I think some weight is better than being too thin! Of course, I am overweight, but not being as active as I used to be, it is difficult to keep the weight off! Pills and non-exercise doesn't help to keep the weight off! Since I started taking my anti-depressants twice a day now, I haven't been able to keep at the same weight as I was doing! Oh well, Ma isn't looking for a man and they are the ones who like and love the beautiful, shapely women, of which I am not!

I like my life the way it is, except for aching and hurting so much and not being out MD'ing, I really miss doing that, for it was a good hobby! Sunny and warm here, today, and very nice for going :detecting: I may try this afternoon, even though I have plenty of work that needs done in my home and yard! I think getting out and doing something I like just might help me to revive unless I get so sore that I am worse than before!

Keep on, keepin' on in faith for Jesus and enjoying life with your family while you are still able to do so......never know what the future holds! God Bless! Ma Betty

I like the power of a manual shift, too. The four wheeler I own now is the first one I've owned (personally) that wasn't a manual. I like the convenience and ease of the automatic but I do miss the starting off power of a manual. I reckon it's all I need though. Julie likes her ES. I remember when the ES first came out. I was doing a Rider Course class one Saturday when it started sleeting mixed with some freezing rain. The students in the class voted to finish the class even though it was becoming miserable. Toward the end of the class, the guy with the new ES was having trouble because the shifter buttons were becoming iced over. Ha!

Yes, Ma, I do have fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis. People who have never dealt with fibro don't know how painful it can be. I've had several doctors tell me that, in some cases, it can be much more painful than rheumatoid arthritis. I stay active because if I don't, I end up in even more pain. I'm not "shapely" but I figure I'm about average. Being active helps me keep the pounds off too. It's very painful to be active, but even more painful to NOT be active. I walk, hike, canoe/kayak, ride four wheelers, do some other workouts occasionally, and do a little metal detecting and other treasure hunting.
