Went and got myself a new machine..and it's even better than the explorer!

Who needs 28 frequencies when you've got 1? I bet this thing will run circles around my SE any old day.
(in all seriousness, this is my first machine I got when I was 5 or 6 from radio shack, Found it while cleaning out some of my junk from the parents house)
Now if I could just attach my X1 probe to it I'd be all set...

And the discrim is mostly useless. Now I remember why it got used 2 or 3 times and then got shelved in the basement.

That's a blast from the past.... that was my first detector too. Bought it with birthday money from Radio Shack back in 1982. I found a Walking Half, Silver Quarter, and 4 Mercs in my Grandmas back yard with it on it's maiden voyage! It barely read that half at 4" deep! I kept it for years after I upgraded it. Then I decided to turn it into a water machine with some ziplock bags and a tube of clear silicone, man did it look ridiculous!:lmfao: It worked for 3 "dives", though and I ended up selling it for 50 bucks to some poor dupe! Take care and HH, Mike.

the packaging alone could bring enough $$$ at a Vintage Toy Auction to afford a brand new :minelab:Explorer!

well, probably not...but it would look good in a museum.

Hope all your other detectors don't collect dust, you don't give up the hobbies and your family because of this:blink:

Looks like a MD for a midget :drinking:
