Went back and did the lawn today. James, you're not allowed to view my scanty silver finds. Not after seeing yours.

The ground is powder dry as deep as you normally dig. The signals are bad. When I say bad I mean there not clear and I'm not getting the depth I should be getting. Most of my finds right now are 3 to 5 Inches deep and thats about it.
Couldn't seem to get past the early 1900s. I think after a long soaking rain I will get deep enough to pull some more old coppers.
Clads V. Real money. A nice Packards token. No not the team. The car. Better pic to come.

Is the lawn trashy Bob? Lots of nail and junk. I have a lawn like that and it's been very tough to detect. I know there has to be some older coins here. I just have not been able to find anything but wheat pennies.

Any tips you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
 
The only thing I can suggest is. And there will be lots of debate about this. Is to set your machine up to all metal and sen. set at max if you can. I run 30 as much as possible. Make sure the sen. is on manual and slow your sweep speed down. Don't get silly about it but slow down and go investigate all sounds that are a higher tone than Iron. When I say investigate I mean check it for a good read. In more cases than not the tone will reach a higher pitch when you go back and narrow down the wiggle over the target. If it is repeatable all around I dig.
One more little goody. Dig all the signals that fall in the zinc penny area. I dig lots of Mems and I get lots of great surprises. Some are even Large cents.
 
I have a tough time running my Sensitivity above 20. The machine just seems to carry on too much.

I went out for about an hour and ran slow. I also ran with my Iron Mask pretty heavy. I dug a 1942 Canadian penny, and 2 Wheats, a 1956 D and a 1939.
 
Bob ,you did good you found silver.I remeber you saying that silver is hard to find in your area.Great job and good luck on your next trip out.

You did well!!! 6 Silver is nothing to joke about. How long of a hunt was this? Can't wait when you post a better Pic and maybe clean up the Packard Token a bit so we all can see the Details. I love them Tokens!!! Looks like a very good spot to me to hunt and I am sure there may be more Silver waiting for your return. Continued Success, Good Luck and HH NH Bob!:detecting:
