Some years ago a friend & I hit a couple scraped house lots. Nothing left but the dirt. I got a Merc and we both got a few other coins. We moved on to other sites.

Today I was along the sidewalk strips that run in front of the lot & decided to do it again as I am now digging more signals than in the past, plus I have learned more about using my machine. To make a longer story short I dug 6 wheats, 15 clad and these 3 silver dimes.

The one Merc is really cruddy - silver almost always comes out of the ground better here. Got to be some good in no rainfall.

I think I will hit this spot yet again ! Along with the coins from here I got a total of 70 from continuing the sidewalk strips till I gave out. Steve in so az

Say it 5 times fast "sidewalk strip silver" lol. Steve, you are doing a superb job of cleaning the silver out of these strips. I wish you continued success. - Jim

cool, silver is always fun!!

I know you never get rain, but was that black dime in a wet area? Like maybe where it got irrigation? Congrats my friend.

No - it was in a lawn as best I can tell. It sure looks like chemical damage tho. I went back real early this morning and went over the area again. Got 4 recent pennies. Steve

Actually, a friend in Phoenix dug one about 15 years ago. He was offered 400 bux but gave it to his daughter for a keepsake instead, Steve

Was the cruddy Merc. under where the sidewalk was? Seems like coins under sidewalks get pretty ugly I guess from stuff that leaches from the concrete.
