Went back to my "lucky ring" park today and found another really nice silver ring but..

damned if I didn't lose it. Made me mad enough to eat nails. Also picked up another $3.40 or so plus trinkets and rosary beads. This park just keeps producing. I think I left some more rings plus a few coins in the ground as in some places it was impossible to dig. Be glad when we get a little rain to soften it up.

Yeah it was a nice ring and it really pizzed me off. I know what happened. I rarely ever use a pouch ( they bug me ) and I put my coins and things in my left pants pocket where I keep my key ring, loaded with keys. Either when I left the park or when I stopped at the store on the way home I pulled my key ring out and dragged the ring with it and left it laying on the street or the parking lot at the store for some lucky "BLIND HOG" to stumble upon. First time that has ever happened. I've lost a coin or two in the past but never a ring. That's the third or fourth ring I've pulled out of that park.

Bill, I'm sure you have a pill box, put it in your pocket, and put your rings in that, you'll know if that comes out of your pocket, just make sure you don't swallow it by mistake, thinking it's a pill, HA!!!!:surprised:

I don't care for pouches either. I keep my nicer finds in the little pocket above my right pocket of my detecting jeans. Eveything else goes in my left pocket. Every time I pass a trash can I drop off the pop tops, bits of can, and other junk. I'm sure I've tossed a coin or two away more than once. Keys either in my right pocket or left in the truck depending on where I am. If I find anything really good I put it in a pill bottle wrapped in cotton in my truck immediately.

At least after 40 years of detecting there are still a few firsts left.

Bummer Bill. You'd think after 40+ years of doing this you would know better:rage:
