Went back to the Headhunter PI and is it possible to have a tone ID pulse machine

Recently, Terry Crenshaw shipped his Headhunter Pi for me to use here in California. I've owned one in the past with fair to good usage before trading the unit. In order for my first unit to operate stable, I had to reduce the sensitivity "lower the threshold and reduce the FREQ.knob" a little to accept the beaches of Ca.
Terry replaced the stock 11" coil "with a 10 inch center-mount coil made by Eric Foster" and increased the SAT speed.
Hunted Santa Monica beach early this morning and compared the Explorer against the Headhunter Pi on nickels, Didn't bother with the clad since the Headhunter is geared for gold jewelry and not coins "except nickels" The Headhunter Pi picked up a nickel I buried at 11 inches "weak but still responded" while the Explorer fitted with the stock 10" coil could not respond even with a faint signal on the nickel with the unit set as high as possible without falsing. Sure felt great operating a pulse unit again especially with Terry's headhunter PI getting maximum performance with no falsing.
I have a question for Eric, Mr. Bill or anyone that would know. Is it possible to have a tone ID pulse machine that will generate a different tone for numerous conductors, In other words "Tone ID response as fast as the coil goes over the target" without adjusting the FREQ. knob with each target as does the Headhunter PI. I enjoy the feature of using the FREQ. knob while checking the target but wondering if it's possible for future pulse units to have the ability to quickly change it's tone on it's own as the coil sweeps over the conductors.
Thanks for taking the time to view my post,

Hi Paul,
It looks like Terry put an Aquastar 2 Coil on that machine. I believe the Aquastar 2 is the only PI with the metal stud protruding from the coil. I don't think the Goldquest has it but I could be wrong.

Hello Beachcomber,
Yes, The coil does have a grounding stud. I think this coil was special ordered by Terry for one of his machines "maybe even the Headhunter PI" . He has several underwater units, this coil will accept other "units made or designed by Eric Foster" that Terry already has. I'll have to ask Terry which machine this coil was designed for.
I'm surprised you took notice of the grounding stud "you have a keen eye" Just a handful of beach hunters how about this.
Thanks Beachcomber,
HH, Paul (Ca)

I had seen on a friend of mine's Aquastar2. As the saying goes.."it's all in the details"

The coil on the Headhunter although looking the same as the Aquastar II is not interchangable.
It was a coil that Eric made Terry for the CScope CS7, it can be used on the Headhunter PI. Some trimming will most likely need to be done to get the max, out of it. Perhaps Terry did that to it.

Thanks Mr. Bill,
Just got off the key-board with Terry, He said the same thing "the coil is made for the CS-7" and works with the headhunter Pi. Yes, Terry trimmed this Headhunter to achieve both stability and performance.
Looks like in the fall I'm be gearing up for gold hunting "two week vacation" If everything falls into place, Looks like I'll be getting a machine from you for nugget hunting here in the Ca desert and AZ.
Thanks again Bill,
HH, Paul (Ca)

Hi Mr. Bill,
I only saw a CS-7 one time when they first came out. The NewForce people had a display at the FMDAC Hunt in Wildwood, N.J. I don't remember seeing the grounding pin on that one but that was a long time ago and my memory isn't as good as it once was Thanks for clearing things up...it sure did look like the Aquastar coil

PS I almost bought a CS-7 that day in Wildwood I have been fighting the urge to buy another PI for a long time

The CScope never had a coil like that. Your correct about that. It's a coil that Eric made for Terry to fit his CS7, based on the Aquastar II coil configuration.
Terrys interference problems are so strong where he hunts, the coil with the grounding stud was developed. It works best in his area.
Although we still employ it on the current Aquastar II, it's not necessary in most places. But again, it can't hurt.
Changing out the CScope CS6, CS7, and the Headhunter PI coil with a coil from Eric would improve them a bit, but it would be cost prohibitive. Eric's coils are expencive,($225/$250), as he makes the best coils in the industrie. No one makes PI coils with his expertise, this is one of the reasons he has detectors running a 10uS.
