Went detecting for the first times this year...

Thought that would it would be ok to go to the neighborhood school last night with the wife and granddaughter. By the time I had found 3 pennies all the littles guys were there to help dig. Didn't check the batteries before I left. They would gp 10-15 seconds before going nuts. Then the teens showed up. Not a good deal. Batteries low and the bad guys on the horizon. We left with the granddaughter litterly in tow. Went to a park tonight with the wife and granddaughter. No bad guys but the mulch was new and full of nails. A guy could spend considerable time there removing nails. After about 10 minutes of this nonsense I rezet the MD to coins and had the disc down low. Found 28 cents. Whopee. A couple of hundred outings like these and the batteries will be payed for. LOL

Glad you got out! :) Did you get my email?

on this year's totals :) I always wonder why we find so many nails in the mulch. Glad to hear you are getting out - steve in so az

I know what you mean about the 'bad guys on the horizon' and all the little kids to help (get in the way)..and even the dying batteries. We probably all have been there at one time or another so we sympathize with ya.

You should call the parks people and tell them about the nails in the mulch so they can clean it up.

ANyway glad you did get to do some detecting in peace and had some finds to bring home. A big  to Mary and glad the granddaughter had a chance to have fun too.
