Went to a park and hunted for a few hours. First target was part of a charm bracelet. Later on I got the neat foriegn coin from the Arab Republic of Egypt. Sure is a thick coin. Then I went into the old area of the park and pulled 4 wheats, and a 59 Lincoln. Was trying to squeek out a silver but could not find it today. Had fun and I will return!

it seems like a lot of foreign coins are thicker than ours. Sounds like a stress reliever trip - they are for me, Steve in so az

Congrats on the finds! Wish I could find time to drag out my equipment and go diggin. Most of my treasure hunting has been in the form of geocaching for the past year or so. It's either been too hot (until recently) or I just haven't had time to metal detect. I love metal detecting and other forms of treasure hunting, but I do believe geocaching is my favorite. :)

I like geocaching also. I love to place them just as much as finding them. I think there are about 700 within 25 miles of me!

Cool finds, glad you got out to MD.

I've never counted to see how many there are near me but I know there are a lot. I, too, like to place them! As of right now, I have 17 hidden. Got several more ready to hide as soon as I get a chance; different sizes, shapes, styles, etc. Caching is something I can do quickly and easily (usually), and don't have to drag out my detector and other gear, and/or battle the heat & snakes (which I have no intentions of doing anyway when it's hot). I do hope to get some detecting in sometime in the near future since it is cooling off and hopefully the snakes will be fewer in number in another month or so. Of course we don't find the "treasures" caching that we do detecting, but the thrill and fun of the hunt and find is a real rush for me. :)

a TB hotel at my home. People stop by and trade bugs and I get to meet many of them.

That's pretty cool, Mike!
