Went hunting... for bargains

Today Luke asked me if i wanted to go to an interior flea market / antique store. I said, why not. So we went there and lurked to see some good bargains we could resell on ebay.
Well, there were many interresting antiques, but they know how mutch it's worth and there wasn't a lot of chances for a profit to be done there :) Still it was fun to watch and search for interresting stuff. We saw an entire collection of knifes and baillonnettes from the Nazi army (all originals). They were selling from 50 to a hundred bucks... felt that was a good price since many of those where is very decent shape.

Here is luke and my son Guillaume looking for interresting finds. The place is huge and has two levels all filled with antiques.

Like rings ? This dealer had two big boxes filled with brass rings. I taught it might have been fun to polish a few and plant those on sites hunted by other guys :) But at 3 rings for 5 bucks, it was a bit pricy for a joke

We ended up buying nothing :) We went to Wallmart to buy chocolate for our respective nefews and then decided to stop at an other big interior flea market near by. The second place was mutch less interresting. T-shirts, jewels, watches and jeans. About 100 different shops, all selling the same chineese crap :)

Fortunatly, on the second floor, there was this big racing track. You paid a few bucks for a 10, 20 or 30 minutes session. For my son, I asked for a slower car that would not run off the sharp curves and took a faster car for myself. Well, they are fast! Some of the curves, you can take at full speed, but others, you have to slow down otherwise, you have to go and put your car back on track or ask someone ner by to do it.

My son was full trottle all the time but since it wasn't too fast, his car kept on turning all the time. I passed him many time, but waisted a lot of time because my car crashed on shap curves. Well at the end, we looked at the computer and realised I only did 32 laps and he ended up doing 64!!!
Some custommers were pretty serious about those tracks and they came with their own cars and remote... well since the computer can tell you how fast your turn was and how many you did, it's a bit more challenging. I must admit my interrest was dropping a bit more each time my car ran out of tracks :)

Finally, on the way back home, we took a look at the local hill to see if people were still "depositing" coins. We like to detect that hill when the snow melts. Gotta be there before the snow is completely gone thaugh... I just realised they have changed the inflatable rafts. Now, there is a plastic bottom. Before that, they were hollow in the center. Wonder if we'll get as mutch money as we did before those. Boy are they fast! People kept on crashing on the tire line at the bottom of the hill... too bad we weren't dressed for... i'd have tryed a few run down !

Well, thatMs about it for today... as you can see, it's still sligtly under freezing temp. here and snow accumulation means we wont see grass before a good 4 to 6 weeks :(

Nice tour of your day, Martin. I'm typing this by touch after being blinded by that picture of the ski hill. Please give advanced warning in the future as my eyes have adapted to palm trees and pink sand beaches after over 3 years living in Bermuda.:canadaflag::lol:

Cheers,

BDA:cool:
