Here I am, coil to the ground listening for anything. Unfortunately, there had been quite a few parties close to the water so pull tabs and beer cans were every where. We had to get a little inside in order to find quiet ground to hunt for starters.

What do we have here? Looks like a lead round ball that may not have seen the light of day for over 170 years !! YEEE HAW!!

Here she sits insitu on the plug she came out of. Approx. 3 to 4 inches deep and the little excellerator coil hit her hard. Think we may be in the right place?

Well, unfortunately on this trip that was the only target that said "Fort". I know we are in the right area but maybe just not quite on the right spot. This lead ball has about 35% of it missing on the back side from either a poor mold or maybe a soldier was making something out of it. You guys n gals tell me what you think.

Back side that had been carved away and a hole started. Maybe a fishing weight in progress?

Ball sitting flat on my finger. No doubt that it's the real deal but there has to be more out there, we just were not on the right spot just yet but we are sooooo close. Maybe we will hit it again after the next freeze here in Florida.
Thanks for looking.
