Went on a road trip today!

My hunting buddy and I went up to Albany NY today to meet treasure hunting legend Bob Lavoy. He was the first to discover sunken ships from the French American Indian war in lake George. He also discovered the Catskill gold cache. Anyway he now owns and operates a treasure hunting store out of his home in Altamont NY. He has a mini museum of his finds covering about the last 30 years. Very impressive. Bob is strictly a "Whites" man, but, guess which pro pointer he sells in his store? You guessed it "GARRETT"! He reluctantly admits that in his opinion it is the best one on the market. I did make a purchase while I was there though, I bought my first ever Lesch digger! We stopped on our way back at a site we have been wanting to hunt and tried it out, I loved it. My brother in law bought one too. My first hunt for 2010 was through 5 inches of snow but I still managed to get 7 quarters, 16 dimes and about 10 pennies all clad but we had a ball anyway!:garrett:

Yes it is! I don't think I got out hunting last year till February or March. This year we got out on Jan 16th, mostly we were physic'd from visiting Bob Lavoy (who does hunt during the winter and lectured us on it) and also cause we both just bought a lesch digging tool and we were anxious to see how well they worked. I may go out today as well. One thing I noticed is that where we dug under several inches of snow the ground was not frozen and we dug easily. Where the ground was bare, it was frozen and was like digging in concrete!:garrett:

Alright!:bouncy:Sounds like fun!:wiggle:No pics?:shrug:Thanks for sharing!:biggrin:Happy Hunting!:)
