I found this pencil sharpener. You hold onto the tab and sharpen your pencil. It says on it SHARPENER, PAT. Dec 11, 06, No. 650. The date must be 1906. I was at an old scnool site. I ran in Coin/Jewelry, Sensitivity +1, Disc 3, gb locked, and the 5.3 coil. I started with trigger in the forward position and my friend had a target and I couldn't here it till I had the trigger in the center. So I hunted with the trigger in the center then. Now I'm going to have to read the manual :rofl:

Thanks, when I dug it up I was wondering what the heck is this. Then a friend looked at it and was able to read it. I've never seen one either. Last fall at another old school I found an old brass pencil holder for short pencils.

With the trigger forward the MXT notches out the pull tab range.........
You might want to pick up a copy of Ray Foster's "The MXT Edge" ..... It is a great resource for the MXT and how to get the most out of it.

That is correct. Just keep in mind this is only when in Coin & Jewelry mode.

In Relic Mode - trigger forward, any metals below your DISC setting, the audio will be suppressed or a broken sound. (UNLESS you turn DISC to 0, in which case you get 2-tone Iron ID mode).

Also this is only for the MXT and not the PRO version. With the PRO, keep the trigger in the middle position. I use the PRO and I can choose 2 tone or target ID, I believe the 2-tone is (iron grunt & anything above the disc setting) while Target ID obviously gives varying tones to ID target. But I usually stick with coin/jewelry mode. I'm not sure what other differences the PRO has but it does have a broader audio range.
