Went out with my new coil...

Mike convinced me that the 7.5" minelab coil was a good one to have in the arsenal. Got it brand new on Ebay and saved about $60 to boot. Took it out last night for a little bit to a ballfield I've pounded for the past 3 years

Went to the beach this morning but there was nothing happening. Not just me... had a nice talk with a guy I've bumped into a couple of times there. Things are bleak right now (until the weather gets good and hot) After the beach I went to that park where I picked up the large cent a couple of weeks ago. Got my first Buff if you can believe it. Pretty crusty though

I would never take mine off. I can jack the sensitivity up to 30 with it on so there isn't much of a depth loss with it because of the smaller size. I hunt a lot of larger areas though so I then pop on the 10 x 14 Excelerator. Both of those excelerator coils are better than the stock coil for me.

I'm ticked off at myself because I thought I saved all the pics I took from MI so I deleted them from my camera Thank goodness I managed to save one You've got a great looking family and REAL nice kids. Ya done good Mike!

Hey Joe, have you ever tried the 5 inch coil? Your thoughts if ya did?

I've been using the Platypus in that ball field most of the time...good separation of junk and goodies with its DD field. I tried the 5 inch once but covered very little ground. Eight inch was ok, 10 was pretty heavy but better coverage but love the Platypus...if only they would have rounded the edges of the coil so it slides better.

Hmmm wonder if my 8 inch is a 7 inch and never noticed. Have to check.
Just checked its the Sunray X-8 (double D). Since the 8 inch is DD, I might use it more instead of the 10 inch Minelab coil.

Congrats again Joe on the ne coil, your first Buff and the Merc too.
