Went out yesterday and found Gold and a Jeweled Pig

Went downtown last night in search of some unfrozen soil. Stopped by the Occupy Boise camp area and decided to metal detect the grass between the street and the sidewalk there. Its about 2 blocks from the state capital and is lined with parking meters. I decided to focus on all repeatable signals that I figured were not coins or I suspected were Gold. Pulled out a size 11 14k ring at 4 inches deep, and a rhinestone encrusted pig at 3 or 2 inches. It fell in the gold range but I am sure its not. The ring weighs 7 grams. It shined up nice. The pig is a little rough but was fun to find. I pulled some clad and the typical pull tabs and balled up can slaw. Not much junk probably 5 peices compared to 20 or so good targets. I did some experimenting with deep and fast and found I like both to be set to off. I found a target that was right next to an old sidewalk that was about 10 inches deep that beeped only with both set to off. I think a lot of guys who detect Boise only hunt coins so there is still plenty of jewelry left for me. Idigid

Nice Gold !!!!

I am coming close to finding as many gold rings as I have silver coins. I think the ring came in at 12-28 if I remember right. The smaller rings have been 12-02 and just above that on the CO number. This is the biggest gold ring for me yet. I found a larger class ring but it was plated. Idigid

Congratulations on the finds Idigid! Thanks for the pictures.
