went to a home site and local park a couple days ago

Well-known member
I hit a home site a couple days ago, about 25 years old. about 50 homes that were either moved or destroyed by repeated flooding over the years. These homes were built in a low lying are too close to the river.The govt. decided to move most of the homes instead of paying repeated claims. Only stayed for about 2 hours, allot of trees and under brush to deal with. I did manage to find the following;
3 quarters
6 dimes
4 nickles
13 pennies
one real nice buck knife
allot of junk.
On the way home, I hit this local park and had a field day.It was getting dark but did have a little light from the park lights. The park was re-done about 8 years ago. They bordered the play areas with about 5 to 6 inches of play sand and landscape timbers. My new GTI 1500 done it's job, and the automax precision v-4 pin pointer that I got really came through also.I was getting hits one after the other for about 2 hours until the posse came around and I had to leave. I told my wife that I would be home my dark and lost track of time with all those hits.She send out her troops to find me and that ended my excursion.
Finds from the park;
13 quarters
17 dimes
8 nickles
27 pennies
1 white gold women's wedding band
1 large gold wedding band dated on the inside 1975

PS This is my first time hitting dry areas, I've only been at the beaches before and boy do I like my new toy.

What a cracking hunt Stan! That's a tremendous amount of good finds. Finding a gold ring already.:surprised:
to bad that instead of being the hunter, you became the hunted.:lol: that's why I headed out at sparrow twit when I was in Sydney. I was back by 9:30 most mornings. As the rest of the family was just finishing breakfast at that point, there was no dissension in ranks about how long I went out 'tecting!
