we went out to my inlaws community lake to do some swimming and detecting. we found a hot wheel not pictured and a garden digger also not pictured. we did a little swimming but it was cut short due to our oldest making a discovery of his own...little blood suckers have invaded the once perfect lake. he came out with this critters on his feet and my hubby got a few of them as well. so we checked eatch other over as well as we could and decided to move on. next we went to the elementary school our oldest just graduated from. i dont think it ever has been detected. this is our finds for less then an hour of hunting. we had to cut that short as well due to our oldest having to get a physical for football. we got a gold plated, three silvers, a mood ring , and 5.46 in clad. 4.75 of it was quarters. the ring next to the mood ring with the fake bling around it is the one i found the other day.

Congrats on the keepers! :)

we will be hittin that school yard pretty hard. there were some targets we just couldnt find. all this in one small section of the grass area. we still have about 95 % of the school to hunt.

Congrats dobbie on the nice finds and the quarters! The jewelry looks good and sorry about the lake and the leaches (blood suckers) ! I would have got out of there fast too! You could have told them little critters that your family didn't have any blood to spare! Glad you all had fun otherwise and will be checking out that school some more! Sure is surprising if no one has hunted it, as they usually hit the school grounds, if they can! I'm happy for ya and keep on, keepin' on for Jesus and huntin' the goodies!

God Bless!

it is a country school full of kids whos parents are high society people. doctors, lawyers, business owners etc. it is also where pee-wee football practice is held amoung cheerleading practice and others. the school is older than i am. my husband went there all 8 years till highschool.its set back away from everythingand if you dont live out there or have a child at that school you really wouldnt go out there. im guessing nobody has hit it because of the luck we had there today. but i dont see doctor and lawyer types digging in the dirt for pennies. it is surrounded my million dollar homes..

the garden digger some other detectorists digging tool he lost maybe???

Congrats on the finds.

Tips: For leeches....a hot cigarette gets them loose quick

For ticks...some fingernail polish on their backs gets em loose...they can't breathe so they drop off

Oh - I should not have mentioned the cigarette trick. I don't want anyone taking up smoking so they can say they do it 'just in case they get leeches' hahahaha.

Well, Pete, a cig could be packed in the Med Kit just in case with some matches.....Could just be for emergencies....like leaches....or building a fire when needed to warm ourselves!
