As a kid growing up in Florida, we never had a baseball team until about 10 - 12 years ago. If you had basic cable, you could root for the Braves or the Cubs as they always played in the afternoons (no lights back in the day) while the "soaps" were on. I really liked the Braves but I also pulled for the Cubbies. They came to play the Rays for the first time here in St. Pete. and even though I'm still really a Braves fan (and a National League Fan) the Rays played really well and beat them for the 2nd time in 2 days and both games were excellent. I was pulling for the Rays, by the way. There were 35,000 in attendance and about half were die hard Cubs fans. I always hate this but have come to terms that there are more Carpet baggin' Yankees in Florida than us true "Southern by the grace of God" Florida Crackers. Just jabbin' at my Nawthern friends so please no hate mail. Any how, they play the final game tonight and the Rays go for the sweep against the team with the best record in Major League Baseball. Yes my friends....... the Rays are for real !
