Wet Ground

G'day all,
Saw a posting on Finders regarding "Is there a difference in detecting when the ground is wet, say after it has been raining"
One answer was "Radio Frequencies do not penetrate the ground as well when it is wet so the penetration of your detector will be seriously reduced"
I tried a search of the archieves here for more answers without success.
Is the above answer correct?
Do PI's improve their depth in wet ground?

Brian,
I seem to notice just the contrary with wet/damp soil. I feel it enhances the target response. This is when using a VLH/IB unit on the ground.
Using a PI unit at a salt beach, there appears to be a noticeable depth/sensitivity increase in the wet salt sand. This is hard to be definite with, but it sure looks like it. I certainly haven

Yes I have found that I get better depth in wet ground I think some of these people have been out in the desert to long??(kidding)

Hi Bill I have found that mineralized wet ground is much more noisey with P.I
