Wet Weather?

Dyna_Willie

New member
I am planning on going out for the first time tomorrow. It is been wet here all day. What if any problems does this propose? I have been reading the forums and they have mentioned falses if it's too wet. Is that in grass? In pine bark mulch? Dirt? I have a BH Sharp Shooter II, any suggestions? Or bag it and wait for dryer weather? Thanks, Willie

Dont worry about the wetness - way overrated. The soil will actually sound off the signal better in wet soil. Good luck, get out there & report back :) Steve in so az

Welcome to the forum. You should be ok, unless you have standing water etc... Give it a go! :)

God bless!

Just go swinging and see for yourself. Conditions are different all over the country and people use all different kinds of machines with different settings. While wet soil may cause falsing for one guy with one type machine, that doesn't me you will. Personally, I LOVE when the gound is very moist! Very easy digging and I've found you can go deeper; just my opinion :)

Have fun!

you have to get experience and get to know the machine and your limitations - can't do that sitting in a warm dry chair in the house. I agree with others that moist or wet soil helps the signal and much easier to dig as well.
Have a great time. Don't get frustrated...everything takes time and patience. Be sure to fill your holes so it looks like you have never been there. If ya find holes dug by squirrels...fill them too so you and other detectorists don't get blamed and you lose places to detect.

Welcome to the forum Willie and good hunting.
