What a difference a year makes...

Last year was a "down" year for me, first time since I bought my Explorer I didn't find a hundred silver coins in a year, as a matter of fact I only found 57 silver coins total. There were many reasons why I didn't such as my job, a 1 year old, and moving to a new place among the reasons. I just checked my totals so far this year as of today. The total silver this year is sitting at 60 right now. A "virgin"(seemingy tho I've talked to many who detected it years ago) site was helpful, plus a little more free time has helped. The breakdown of silver:
1 Barber Half(1906-D), 1 Walking Liberty Half(1916-D), 5 Washington Quarters(39, 41(2), 42, 42-D), 13 Roosies(46, 46-S, 47(2), 48, 50-D, 51, 51-D, 52, 54, 56, 57, 57-D), 32 Mercury Dimes(16-S, 17-S(2), 18, 20, 20-S, 25, 35(4, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40(3), 40-D(3), 41(4), 42(3), 42-D, 43, 44, 44-D), 3 Barber Dimes(04, 06, 07-D) and 5 War Nickels(42-P, 42-S, 43-P(2), 44-P). Not too bad so far. No Seated and few Barbers, but mostly been hunting areas where activity was from 20's to 60's!!

That is a heck of a good start for this year already! When did you get to finally start to detect? Just curious to find out how long it has taken you to find that many silver. Great finds so far and keep them coming.

First was a very mild winter and only a couple days this year I couldn't dig because of frozen ground...second was finding a site that produced that gave up 40 silvers(that always helps). I basically hunted from the beginning of the year finding 8 silver in January, 19 in both Feb and Mar, and 14 so far this month. Not close to the 360 silver I found my first year with my Minelab(includes 75 Barber and 19 Seated dimes alone) but my goal is 250 and I need to pick it up to reach it.
