What a grand day it was...

Had to take a trip to Traverse City - about 70+ miles from home one way. Made the trip by myself...usually Sherry drives. On the way there I saw a fox, an eagle, a stork and a group of turkeys. Wildlife is cool up here. Didn't get any pics of them though.

It is amazing how far one can see from some of the hills:

Found this fantastic old bridge on the way to TC:

Though I didn't get pics of the fox, the eagle, the stork or the turkeys, I did stop and get a few pics of these BIG guys (Buffalo) that someone is raising just outside of Traverse City:

If ya think this made for a grand day, it is only a part of it. God blessed me in many ways today. God is great all the time.

It sure looks beautiful there. Pretty soon, those autumn leaves are going look even more spectacular.

I would love to put on a big coil and hunt the woods in an area like that!

hard part is getting to swing a coil in those areas...now overgrown with trees, saplings, tall weeds, etc.

I have an old lumbering town (circa 1880s) with plat map of the way the town was, where buildings were, etc. Just not much room since the town closed and it became overgrown to do much with a coil. Still find indentations in the ground where buildings once stood and the foundation of the old school house (lots of old square nails there). With deer season coming on...probably best to stay out of the woods too. But I bet there is a lot to be found.
